Niel represented us in a FINRA arbitration to pursue our securities claims against one of the largest financial firms in the world. The claims made in the case were for unauthorized trading, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, negligence, elder exploitation, fraud, unsuitability, failure to supervise and violation of state securities laws. After a five-year fight involving the production of almost 300,000 pages of documents, numerous depositions and many pre-trial motions, briefs and hearings in front of the arbitration panel, the case was settled after two weeks of arbitration (with an anticipated four or five more weeks of arbitration remaining) for an amount well in excess of $6,000,000. Niel’s vast knowledge of securities law coupled with his past industry experience as general counsel for a large securities firm made Niel uniquely qualified to represent us in this complex litigation.
