I had three choices: two large groups, or Mr. Rausa. I chose Mr. Rausa because of his numerous excellent reviews from clients as well as other attorneys. Also, I wanted someone to provide personal service and have a vested interest in my difficult student loan case. I certainly made the right choice. Mr. Rausa personally answered two of my phone calls and regularly answered my emails, even on one Sunday evening. After 30 years of student loan "prison", he got me freedom AND he even got the US Dept. of Justice to dismiss 25% of my loans, which saved me $85K. I feel like I have a new lease on life because of Mr. Rausa. I wish I could recommend 10 stars.

I came to DJ Rausa after searching for alternatives to the narrative I kept seeing online - that student load debt could NOT be discharged in bankruptcy and would stick with you forever. But after doing more research, I found a few people who suggested that there might be alternatives to the traditional interpretation of bankruptcy laws. After meeting with DJ for two separate consultations, I finally trusted him enough to file my bankruptcy with a plan to pursue an adversarial proceeding afterwards to eliminate my private student loans (~$110,00 worth). I know that this situation won't be an option for everyone, but for those with significant private student loans that meet the right criteria, he has the ability to completely re-write your life. I didn't know how I could ever pay off the debt from my Ph.D. program in a reasonable time frame, but DJ's work eliminated all of it and in the course of about 8 months, my credit score also went from the low 500's to over 700 (and still growing). He's a busy guy and he may not hold your hand all the time or call you back immediately, but his work speaks for itself. He's a great lawyer and he really cares about helping people in need. I can't recommend him enough. This was the best money I've ever spent. I'll always be grateful for what he has done for me and my family. NOTE - I did not receive any discount, payment, or credit for this review. I paid full price for both my bankruptcy and the adversarial proceeding. And I would gladly do so again with no regrets. February 2017. I called after seeing this person's large advertisement on the internet regarding debt consolidation and bankruptcy. A man answered the phone with no voice tree, wonderful I thought! I was in a jovial mood and said "I'm calling regarding debt consolidation/student loan relief and/or bankruptcy." He said without warning "I'm not interested" and HUNG UP THE PHONE!!!! I called back immediately and the same man answered. I said simply "I'm calling back to understand what I said to make you hang up on me". He sounded irritated and said loudly "I'M NOT INTERESTED" and hung up again!! If he has too much business, then simply "I'm not taking new clients" would do. If he's out of business, then "I no longer do this (and have not yet taken down my website)". But to hang up twice on a prospective client, I feel like I escaped a bullet as who knows what can occur with a man so impulsive and volatile if I actually hired him! For shame, sir!!

We went in for a consultation and he was very helpful at giving us all of our options for our deb settlement. Very knowledgeable and has many years of experience.

DJ and Katie are fantastic! My chapter 7 was discharged in October. The service I received was excellent. These guys are fast! As soon as you have your things in order DJ is ready to go. Always professional. I had a lot of questions and sent (probably too) many emails, to which they always respondedquickly and made me comfortable with the entire process.
