Representation: 5 Knowledge: 5 Cost: 5 Communication: 4.7 Relatability: 5 Jennifer is an amazing attorney. She represented me in my child custody case and without a doubt she represented me better than I could myself. She fought for me and my family in that courtroom like they were her own. She was able to give me peace of mind throughout the process. She never gave me false hope. When she shows up in that courtroom to represent you. She is brutal towards opposing parties especially when she has “teeth” to put it in her words. I think it deserves to be mentioned that during our court case not one but two different professional establishments were familiar with her name and how she was known to not play games. It was also nice to be speaking to somebody that was passionate about what they do. She didn’t seem like a robot. She was an actual person able to empathize. My only complaint. Would have to be that there would be periods of time when I wouldn’t hear from her. Not that it was important that I did. It would’ve just been nice to have an update even if there wasn’t any thing new to report on her end. I want it to be known that if I ever needed anything, I could always reach out to her and she would respond promptly. To touch base on cost. Lawyers in general are expensive. I will say that the service that she provided was priceless. The representation and the peace of mind alone are worth it. She will be the first lawyer eye contact if I ever need someone to represent me again. Thank you so much Jennifer for everything you did for my family. If there is ever anything I can do for you and your family please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

My Case Receiving Full Custody/Divorce: She's a Godsend 100%! Jennifer is more than my Attorney, she's someone I have respect and gratitude towards for helping me keep my child safe! From day one of meeting Jennifer and pouring my heart to her she knew the goal was putting my child first! I trust with any other case different than mine, Jennifer will have your back just the same! Your priority is her priority if she knows she can help! Someone I can call and easily help answer questions with zero judgment. Thanks to her I've recieved full custody and a divorce. She didn't care how many times I called/emailed. She understood that me wanting to communicate helped me feel more confident in her. Though being a trial was intimidating, I would just remind myself I had God and Jennifer on my side. I felt safe with her with what I was going through. Not to mention every other Attorney and the Judge himself knew Jennifer well enough, you could tell they were all basically family there. God bless Jennifer for the work she does and for helping me and my son have solid security in our lives! God bless her assistant Shelby!

At first, he sounded really nice and was very professional. However, he got extremely annoyed when I contacted him regarding a different case (that I wanted advice for). He was very short and couldn't have cared less about helping me. I do NOT recommend this jerk at all.

Mr. Mark Nobles was certainly expert with contracts. Mr. Nobles reviewed my employment contract and found several items that the hospital had forgot to mention. He Negotiated on My behalf and now everything is taken care of. I am glad I used him and I recommend him to all my friends.

I was injured in Nashville at a bar on Main Street. It was the middle of the afternoon and my jaw was fractured. Without going into detail, I will be having quite a bit of dental work in my future. Sam Miller was one of the only attorney's wiling to take my case and really listen to what happened to me. He was able to negotiate a settlement even though the bar "claimed no fault." If you're looking for someone honest, fair, and knowledgeable about Tennessee Law, HIRE SAM MILLER!

My case was a very lengthy and cumbersome. It involved realtors and the TVA. I was sold a home that encroached 20 ft. on a federal easement track. It has not been used for over 40 years and all identifiable markers (i.e. pole, etc.) were gone. When I purchased the home, the easement was not disclosed to me nor a plat provided. It was also not picked up in a title search. I did not purchase title insurance and therefore had no protection from an event such as this. My lawyer worked with me for many years to reach the best outcome possible in this situation. It was complex, expensive and seemed overwhelming at times. She held those accountable to be responsive, was always prepared and new the law. We came to an agreement in mediation rather than go to trial. She saw the case through to the end worked with all parties to bring this case to the best outcome for everyone. Ultimately, she achieved the goal to free my home from encroachment on the easement as it was agreed to move the easement entirely. Not an easy task. She took this on and never let up until it was finished years later. A case that other lawyers could not see through and others who would not take on the level of complexity of the case. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Murfreesboro, Tennessee?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
