Two years ago, I had an accident where a person died, I didn't had insurance, and to add to that I didn't had a driver's license. I didn't know who to go for legal representation, but a client of mine (from work) recommended him to me and he certainly did his job well. Also, beyond doing his job well, I could see that he is empathetic and that is a virtue that not many lawyers have.
