Linda will go above and beyond for you! Very professional, knowledgeable, attentive to her clients. She has helped me several times. Each time, I wasn’t expecting “the best” outcome. She blew my mind with her representation! She will fight for you and make sure you are taken care of.

My wife and I reached out to Ms. Nicklos about representing us in a civil manner. My wife called her on two occasions. The first time she requested that we email her information about the upcoming case, which we did. I received two emails back from her that were short and quite honestly rude. So, I asked my wife to call her back to see if perhaps I was misreading her email replies. (We all bad days, right?) When my wife called back to inquire about how she wanted us to proceed, she said Linda was originally pleasant sounding when she answered the phone, then instantly switched gears and became rude and dismissive, when she discovered who my wife was. We still have no idea why Ms. Nicklos decided to handle us this way, but I emailed her back and told her we would look elsewhere for representation. Very odd encounter. Perhaps she has a relationship with the people we are facing in civil court, but that is merely speculative. I can't refute that she might be a good attorney for those she wants to represent, but that was not our experience with her. My advice would be to gauge her attitude during the first few days and look elsewhere is she becomes unprofessional and dismissive, as she did we us. I expect she will blast this review with some form of explanation that make us look bad, but honestly... I'd welcome that. I'd like to know her reasoning for being so "mean/rude" toward us.

Definitely worth every penny. Mrs. Linda assisted me with a probate case in Rutherford County. She was there from start to finish. Even when I was scared and afraid she understood me and did not push me to do anything that I didn’t want to do. Thank you for everything that you did for me and my family.

Linda Sue is a powerful and a professional Lawyer. She helped me during my case by going above and beyond fighting for me. She takes care of her clients professionally and with care. Before she starts with your case. She takes time by teaching you some juridical concepts involving in your case about how they work in order to get prepared for the results of your case. Concerning the fees, it's just depends with the case. She always help by letting you make a payment plan in case you are not be able to cover the fees.

Luke recently helped us acquire another carpet cleaning company at the end of the year. He was very thorough with his initial questions to make sure this was a good situation for us. His communication during the entire process was very much appreciated and the signing of documents and explanation of paperwork was seamless. Thank you for making that experience so easy for us. We look forward to doing business with you again soon.

We hired Luke to assist with guardianship for our special needs adult daughter and I have nothing but praise for him and his work. He was very professional yet easy to work with and immediately put us at ease. Knowing our personal circumstances, he worked with us and made accommodations for us. Much of the work was able to be done via email which was a life saver for us, not having to do repeated meetings which can be draining for our daughter. He walked us through ever step, explaining clearly, and always answered our questions promptly. We are very happy we hired Luke.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Nolensville, Tennessee?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
