No one would believe me but Angela, and she talked to the prosecution and they dismissed my case after they realized that there was no evidence. Without Angela I would be in jail.

After a denial on adjusting my Status here in the United States, my husband and I decided to hire a lawyer. I contacted two lawyers, Ms. Moore and another immigration lawyer. From the moment Ms. Moore answered her phone I had a gut feeling that she was the perfect person for the job and my gut feeling was indeed correct. She is always readily available to answer any questions we had and offered her advice when needed. She is very professional and knowledgeable in her field. She knows how to get the work done on time without any mishaps. Her pricing is reasonable and she's willing to work with her clients. I would and will without any hesitation recommend her to anyone who needs an immigration lawyer. Well done Ms. Moore!!

There are 5 words to describe her 1) Intelligent : I had a RFE which I needed to respond to within 3 months and I had contacted 2 attorney previously who had no clue on what to do for 2 and half months ; I got in touch with her and she was able to solve the case within 2 weeks which was amazing and extra-ordinary to me . She is very vast and knowledgeable in immigration law. 2) Hardworking: I got in touch with her 2 weeks to the deadline for my RFE (which was on Saturday) and I was not expecting any response back until Monday but within an hour after calling her, I got a call back from her. I was shocked to get the call back because I was not expecting her to be working on Saturday. She is a hard working attorney who will work with you even on weekends. 3) Meticulous: She is thorough with her work and leave no stone unturned. I was happy and confident having as attorney because I knew she went through my entire document pointing out the most important fine details not visible to ordinary people. After meeting her the first time I had this peace of mind which was lacking in the previous 2 lawyers I’ve worked with and I slept like never before after meeting her. 4) Compassionate : The other two attorney I previously work with put up a glass ceiling between me and them to the extent that I was scared of talking with them but she is different in so many ways because she will bring herself down to you and work with you .Also she understand what immigrants are going through . 5) Confident: She is very confident about herself and her work which makes me trust her.

Mr. Peach walked my family through some difficult times. He was very professional and brilliant. His personal knowledge of Tennessee's family law is amazing. At first, I was hesitant to retain Mr. Peach due to his being so young. Very quickly I learned He is second to none.

I met Patrick when he was appointed by the court as the attorney for a juvenile who was the subject of a lawsuit between two parents, my ex and me. His job was to investigate the evidence given by both sides and then report his findings and his recommendation to the court regarding what was in the best interest of his client, the juvenile. Patrick was very diligent in his efforts, handled himself professionally, was available for questions and further information gathering on a reasonable basis, and made sure the evidence supported his final recommendation to the court. Neither side could refute his findings. I would highly recommend Patrick.

Patrick Rice handled my case with due diligence in order to make sure that the outcome was desirable. I was fortunate enough to have him recommended to me by a friend and I could not have made a better choice. He worked tirelessly to be well prepared and he kept me informed I every step of the process as we went along. The legal knowledge he possesses and can easily obtain provided me with exceptional representation. His people skills were very well and we were able to settle the matter peacefully. The ability to calm situations can be a great asset. The case itself was very difficult on myself and family, but the process was eased with Patrick. I knew that my interests were his top priority. He was able to get the best terms in our agreement and kept everything professional. Patrick Rice is an exceptional attorney and you can't go wrong by choosing him to represent you!

Having to file Bankruptcy was the most stressful thing I have ever had to do--Mr. Rice was kind, professional and understanding. He went out of his way to make the process as stress free and smooth as possible. I would most certainly hire him for future legal needs.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Smyrna, Tennessee?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
