I referred my close friend to Attorney Andrea to assist her with some legal counsel concerning her divorce and child custody matters. She exhibited genuine compassion for her and her situation. My friend was very emotional as one can imagine during a sensitive time, but Attorney Andrea was patient and ensured that all of her questions and concerns were addressed. She is straightforward, extremely knowledgeable, very professional, follows up and follows through for her clients! She takes great pride in being a woman of her word. Attorney Andrea is a woman with great integrity and I would never hesitate to refer any of my friends or family to her. I know without any concern that they would be in great hands and she will care for them, their well being and situation as if it were her own. All the years I have known her she has always taken her passion for serving others beyond her firm as she is involved in philanthropic work and is constantly giving back to her community; whether it's hosting webinars to educate on Estate planning or filing your LLC; she wants you to be informed! You want someone who will not just talk the talk but walks & lives it as well!

Simple custody reversal. I delivered the documents to my ex. No constable. I delivered them back to the lawyer. I completed everything in less time than required and for some reason I still ended up being charged more money. I was told the "negotiated rate" was just an estimate. 3 months after my case was "finalized" I received documents from official agencies reporting that I owed back child support in spite of paying this lawyer more than we agreed to and was told everything was "final". Contacted the attorney and was told "I was no longer a client" and I would "not want to pay her more money" to take care of something simple that I could do myself. Curiously wondering why if it was so simple and the fee for service was paid in full why it didn't get taken care of. Ms. Barbeau claims to be an upstanding citizen and empathetic to her clients problems. All the while charging just as much as the lawyers who tell you out right they just want your money to help you solve your problems. I'd rather deal with an honest crook who over charges than a dishonest lawyer who overcharges. Don't believe the hype. Half the work done assisted by the client and charged more in the end only to discover the job wasnt finished. Shop around folks.

Awful at returning phone calls and emails. Already paid $5,000 retainer. Received another invoice 3-months later for an additional $3,500. Charges to read text messages and emails. Nice caring attorney, just "extremely" slow to respond. Be prepared to pay much more than initial retainer fee.

In the initial meeting I was mislead by her comments of how she wants to help her clients and charges so much less. My experience was made even more stressful by her. I honestly feel that I would have made out better without her representation. She pressured me to settle on everything... Created situations resulting in me having to have long conversations with her. Her office assistant could no help with basic questions and always gave her personal opinion which was an insult. Sandra seemed too busy with no help and had me show up at wrong times to court and sitting around after while she attended to other clients at court. All at my expense. Hiring her was a bad experience and made my legal situation much worse. I terminated her services to hire another lawyer. She was inconsistent with information, told me I needed to pay for things that I did not, charged for things with no explanation of what it was or time spent.

Hired this lawyer after being told my situation could be wrapped up in under 10 hours with an amicable divorce plan. Almost 15 Months later she had not yet completed the divorce process. In the beginning the slowness was blamed on her vacation time, then staff vacation, then assistants surgery, then..then then. I had enough and tried to have a court date set, which required court ordered mediation. She cancelled the court date less than 24 hours before stating my ex had finally agreed to terms and she would draft the final decree. Then for several months all my attempt to contact and request updates were avoided. Her office finally returned my calls and completed things, but it was quite literally the longest "approximately 9 hours" of my life!
