My wife and I started to finally get our family trust and other documents done. We had started 12 years ago in San Jose, California, but never finished. Unfortunately, before we got to the signing, my wife had to go into memory care, is no longer deemed able to sign documents, and my 2014 durable power of attorney is not quite strong enough. In particular I don't have the power to do a will for her. So, we changed course and I was able to do a will that sets up a trust for here if I die first. This cost about half of the original plans. I had already paid in 50% up front which was just a hair less than the new process. They just said to forget it and not pay them any more. I found this all very honorable and it was very easy to complete the changed plans. I also get 45 days to make modifications at no additional charge.
