As mentioned in the title, David is a real straight shooter. We obtained legal consultation from him and he didn't waste anyone's time in telling us our consultation was related to, but outside of his exact area of expertise. He explained to us that if we hired him he would need to familiarize himself with the subject matter, and that would require additional time on the case and therefore additional expenditure. He then recommended 2 attorneys who do practice in the subspecialty in question, offered a refund and upon being emailed 2 weeks later gave 2 more attorneys he recommended who could help. Some lawyers are dishonest, and do nothing more than pad their billable hours. I'd like to think that most lawyers have integrity and are honest. David however is a cut above the rest. His honesty, and candor are unparalleled by any other attorney I've ever worked with (which is a handful), and in hindsight I would have hired him on the spot 2 weeks ago, regardless of the additional money needed to bring him up to speed on the subject matter. David's level of integrity is hard to find in a profession which already prides itself and generally does pretty well in this trait.

David is highly knowledgeable and was a strong advocate on my behalf. Perhaps even more importantly, he was realistic with me upfront about what the process was going to be like, what outcomes I could expect and the ways he could help. Through a frustrating process of dealing with an irrational opposing party and unreasonable opposing counsel, David did an excellent job of moving my legal action forward to a successful conclusion. I recommend David in the strongest terms.

Extremely knowledgeable, great listener, finds several creative solutions. I was considering doing a sublease for a room in a house, and asked David to look over several lease/sublease documents for me. Not only did he save me from accidentally being responsible for rent on an entire house, he made several modifications to the sublease that made sure my rights were as respected as those of the other tenants. He also made sure that I didn't enter into a master lease that would've made me vulnerable to shouldering unfair obligations. He provided several solutions in the form of legal wording and advice on the lease signing process. He was intelligent, easy to talk to, listened, and cared. I give my highest recommendation!

David Gottfried represented my interests in a complex commercial dispute.
