I want to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for Mr. Mirza's work. From the very first moment, he demonstrated a deep commitment to my case, a situation that other attorneys had dismissed or deemed unsolvable. Where others saw obstacles, Mr. Mirza saw opportunities and approached the process with an impeccable legal strategy. What impressed me the most was his ability to listen carefully, understand the complexity of my situation, and give me confidence when I needed it the most. His professionalism, knowledge of the legal framework, and negotiation skills were crucial in resolving my case favorably. Throughout the process, he kept me informed, explaining every step clearly and transparently, allowing me to confidently make decisions. He is not only a highly skilled attorney, but also a person who truly cares about his clients, something that is not always easy to find in this field. Thanks to his tenacity and dedication, my case was successfully resolved, something that initially seemed impossible. I highly recommend Mr. Mirza to anyone looking for a trustworthy professional with impeccable ethics and a true desire to fight for his clients. Don’t waste your time or money with large law firms that only care about taking your consultation fees and figuring out how to charge you without knowing if they will actually resolve your situation, I highly recommend him for any case, especially if it is highly complex. Thank you, Mr. Mirza, for your help. Now I can continue building my American dream. God bless you always.

Imran Mirza sits atop the pantheon of people I have have known that personify empathy, skill, and, most of all, integrity. I'm a Canadian citizen who worked for a company embroiled in a federal case 20+ years ago. Imran took on my case and made sure that the fallout would not result in my removal. The case lasted 19 (!) years through countless telephonic immigration court hearings, delays, IJ resignations and retirements. (My file is nearly 12 inches thick!) I paid him a retainer 19 years ago that he said was a standard fee for cases such as mine, which included any representation in appeals cases at the EOIR, Washington, DC. Neither of us expected the case to last this long. And as long as the case has lasted, and as many hours Imran has spent on my case - outlasting three (3) executive secretaries, no less - I calculated that he made less than $20/hr on my immigration case. While you may be able to find other lawyers in this country with near equal measures of empathy and skill, you will never find one with an equal measure of integrity. He never asked me for more money. Never did. On Feb 9, he successfully argued for recission of my removal and reinstatement of my permanent residency application. He has singlehandedly changed the trajectory of my life and the many generations of my family that will follow. If you are reading the Google reviews to find the measure of the man, do yourself a favor and ignore any reviews that give him less than 5 stars. I know Imran. And I will trust him with my life all over again.

I could not have asked for anyone better to represent me! Mrs. Press went above and beyond in two of my criminal cases leading to both being dismissed. She really fought for me and didn’t just give into a plea bargain. She had a lot of patience especially with my case being carried out through the pandemic. She was appointed to me by the courts in a felony assault case (which was dismissed) and then I retained her in a second case. (DWI which will be dismissed) She made me feel extremely confident from the start. I would highly recommend her!

Just want to say Dionne press will get the job done. I'm a convicted felon with a record, where most lawyers would have told me to take a plea deal Dionne said no we're going to get this dismissed! She stood by her words and got my fraud case dismissed would definitely refer her to anybody in need. Don't play with your freedom walk in there with the lawyer you can trust. Thank u ms. Dionne

I was sued twice by a credit card issuer (because I had two cards with them), after refusing to pay charges that were not correct, and hired the firm where Jason works to handle both cases. They did so for a reasonable fee, which I now deem to be very reasonable given the outcome. They settled both cases for such a reasonable percentage of the original amount that it would be detrimental to all for me to mention it here, but I will say that nobody could possibly be unhappy with it. Nor will I reveal the name of the credit card issuer --let's just say that they are a household name. I spoke with and/or visited several attorneys and I chose to go with this firm because they had plenty of experience but weren't too expensive. There were cheaper options with less experience, but also more expensive ones. I found out that this firm was just as professional and competent as any other --just more reasonable with their fees. I could've paid slightly less, but I didn't feel the representation would be as good. Jason was the sole attorney handling my cases along with an excellent paralegal, named Karen Lauer. I highly recommend them both!

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Bellaire, Texas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
