My sister and I met with Mr. Wesley Wright and his firm with our father for his estate planning. During our initial meeting Mr. Wright was extremely professional and very sensitive to the situation and delicate matter. He created our father's will, power of attorney, medical powers of attorney, advanced directives, etc. Our father has since passed and we have continued to work with Mr. Wright and his firm. The staff is always extremely helpful and professional. We would highly recommend Mr. Wright and his firm.

In 2018, my husband and I were thrust into a very complicated situation with my father-in-law. He had to be put in a nursing home and didn’t have the money to pay for the care. We contacted Wright Abshire in 2019 and have been grateful to the staff and attorneys for helping us navigate the Medicaid application process. We are from out of State (VA) and travelled to Houston in early April on an emergency basis. Our sister in law had just died at age 73 after a prolonged hospitalization, and her husband, my wife’s 77 year old brother -- suffers from early stage Alzheimer’s. He was completely adrift, alone & without local support. And, this with Covid 19 everywhere. The task before us was to get the legal framework straightened out within the parameters of Texas law so that control of the situation could be established: key actions being to: a) have him placed in a safe environment (assisted living), and; b) dispose of their Houston home, vehicle , furnishings, and distribute remaining valubles to the extended family . A valid Trust was in place, but not only was it outdated but it was totally inadequate for the family to deal with the fraught situation at hand. Fortunately for us, our daughter, and her husband, lawyers practicing in the Washington DC area used their research capabilities to locate a top-notch Texas/ Harris County fully licensed Elder Law Firm and Specialist to help us. Top of their research list was Attorney Wes Wright of Wright Abshire Attorneys. We could not have been more fortunate. Luckily, he was able to then take on a new client assignment. Mr. Wright fully grasped the full (and emotional ) parameters of the situation; determined that a restatement of the original trust with the establishment of a statutory Power of attorney was fully feasible and then he and his staff were able to draft needed legal documentation in a few days. Result: fully empowered Co-Trustees were established to act as principles to sell the house and car. including future financial affairs. J. has now located to an assisted living facility in the Chicago area. A Bank account is in place for the Revocable Trust and financial affairs are on an even keel. We award Mr. Wright all 5 stars without hesitation and recommend him highly , particularly for anyone needing specialized, efficient and compassionate Elder Law advice.
