I was standing in for another agent at closing. Kathryn went over each document with the buyer and seller and ensured they knew what and why they were signing. Her explanations were both simple to understand and yet comprehensive. Both the other agent and I agreed she did a fabulous job. I highly recommend her for closings!

I had the unfortunate experience of being hit by a car while walking across the street, but thankfully, the law firm that assisted me turned a difficult situation into a manageable one. From start to finish, their support was exceptional. Ashley Schonewolf was incredibly kind and patient. She took the time to explain everything to me step-by-step, ensuring I understood the entire process. Her empathy and dedication made a significant difference during a stressful time. Jeff Paradowski was genuinely looking out for my best interests. It was clear that his priority was securing the best possible compensation for my lost wages, pain, and suffering, rather than any personal gain. His commitment to my case and his determination to achieve the maximum compensation were truly commendable. I highly recommend this law firm to anyone in need of legal assistance. Their professionalism, compassion, and dedication make them stand out, and I am incredibly grateful for their help during such a challenging time.

The smartest decision I made right after my crash was to contact Jeff about my case. At a time when decisions were difficult, he and Ashley were a God send to me and my family. They made the experienced as stress free as possible and were always respectful, kind and compassionate. I had the utmost trust and confidence in both of them and was so grateful for their expertise!

I was injured in an oil field accident that was really horrible and also not my fault.. The big oil Companies tried to bully me out of a lawsuit. But with Waltman and Grisham we fought back and won! Seriously, I cannot stress enough how great Robert Waltman is!!! Hands down the best lawyer in the great state of Texas. A true bulldog in the courtroom that will fight for you! With Robert Waltman, not only did we win our case, he changed my life! And still checks in on me after the case was over. He’s not your normal lawyers, he’s a guy who cares about you and your family. What you’re going through and will make sure you get what you deserve. Trust me I have ‘millions’ of reasons why this is the premier attorney group of the entire USA! I wouldn’t have won my case without Mr. Waltman. He stays on top of everything and makes sure you’re in good hands from the beginning. Again, my life is truly blessed because of Waltman and Grisham. This is the lawyer you deserve and the very lawyer the others fear! I trusted the rest of my life with Robert. And I’m so glad I did!

Lynn Grisham is a phenomenal attorney in every sense of the word. He is extremely professional, transparent, and responsive. He took my case (slip and fall personal injury) and was very accommodating throughout the entire legal process. He took the time to explain each and every step of the legal procedures whenever I had questions about any aspect of the legalities. He increased the amount of my settlement three-fold from what the insurance provider offered. I felt at all times completely secure and confident that he was always looking out for my best interests. I strongly recommend him for any arduous and complicated issues regarding your case. He is a fighter and does not back down. Mike Lopez

They care about their clients and help them through what can be a lengthy and arduous process. They have taken on some of the largest corporations and insurance companies in this country and won hundreds of millions in settlements for their clients. There are alot of lawyers out there I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of College Station, Texas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
