From the very first phone call to the completion of my case Dimitri was the best! My federal case was complex and NO ONE couldve handled it better than he did for me. My family and I are so appreciative of all that he’s done for us during this difficult time in our lives! Thank you again Dimitri!

Hiring Mr. Dube was the best decision I could have made for my family. From the first phone conversation I knew he was the right person to defend my husband. Mr. Dube took the time to get to know my family and although always professional he never treated us like we were just his job. He has extensive experience with the federal court system and it shows. I will always be grateful for him and the time and attention he gave to my husband’s case. Mr. Dube was not only able to get my husband released on bond while awaiting sentencing but also was able to get his sentence below the minimum guidelines for his crimes which is almost unheard of. When people say lawyers do not matter in federal cases this couldn’t be farther from the truth. Having an experienced attorney on your side like Dimitri made all the difference in the world. We will forever be grateful for all his help and support.

Dimitri Dube, the most professional and comforting attorney I have ever worked with. My husband had two cases at the same time. He was out on bail but then was detained by ICE for three months because of an old charge which he satisfied by deferred adjudication but wasn't properly documented. Dimitri checked in frequently to gauge where we were with the case. I had to hire an immigration attorney then a criminal attorney and fortunately God sent us Dimitri through a friend. We were so fearful of everything but Dimitri was calm and collected and said "Celeste, everything will be fine. Don't worry let me do my job. " so I let him do his job. We were in court for almost two years. Dimitri was with us every step of the way fighting with us and for us. We only had one income in our household and Dimitri worked with us to accommodate us financially. Talk about a seasoned Attorney. Brilliant and goes the extra mile to fulfill his duty. Dimitri is very knowledgeable and down to earth with an awesome work ethich which makes him comfortable to work with. Followup, calls are some of Dimitri's strengths. My husband's case was dismissed and he is a free man now . I would recommend Dimitri 110% The best in DFW! God bless you, your family, and your practice Dimitri. Keep changing lives.

I spent an entire week consulting with many attorney's which I located here on Avoo, at least 20 of them. Dimitri was actually the very last one on my list. I was a complete mess by the time I contacted him about my fiancé's case as I had a 4 week old Baby. Long story short my fiancé accidentally, unknowingly committed a crime in a military base which made it a federal offense. Many attorney's used scare tactics to hire them as soon as possible. My fiancé had a clean record until this arrest and was waiting for his citizenship ceremony to become a US Citizen. The only way to complete his citizenship was to have the charges dropped. I spoke to Dimitri about the case and he immediately eased my mind and calmed me down stating it will be okay. We went to meet him at his office and he gave my fiancé the same ease he had given me. That night we contacted him and hire him. The next morning he had already began working on the case with the state attorney, and in less than 24 hours they had 2 options both which included to have the case dropped. We had some paperwork to turn in and within a WEEK the case was dropped!! The following week my fiancé had his citizenship ceremony appt. I asked Dimitri if he would attend incase there was an issue. Dimitri met us there and sure enough there was an issue with the officer and they were denying my fiancé his ceremony. Dimitri stepped in spoke to the officer, demanded a supervisor, and 2 hours later my fiancé began his ceremony!! He is now a US Citizen all thanks to Dimitri's fast work and staying on top of our case. He also communicated very well and responded quickly to my messages. He also allowed us to do a payment plan that worked for us. He had me when he said "You don't worry about anything that's my job now you live your life as usual before this ever happened". And thanks to him we now can continue our lives as if this never happened. THANK YOU DIMITRI

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Dallas, Texas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
