After seeking representation from the Dallas Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Service ($20) for a tenant/landlord issue. Before meeting with them for a consultation, I sent them an email letting them know the Texas Property Code Statutes that were violated, how they were violated and included documentation showing the violations. I took all the necessary steps one must complete before a suit can be filed to use the remedies available for a tenant when a landlord acts in bad faith. They convinced me that the other side's lawyers would be so well versed in tenant/landlord law that filing a different type of lawsuit would be best. Even though we had no grounds to file a Deceptive Trade Practices lawsuit, and they knew we had no grounds from the email that included proof for the Texas Property Code violations, they filed it anyway. They didn't follow the rules of civil procedure for filing the suit they filed. After all, was said and done, they lost what should have been an unlosable case. When I went to complain about how they handled the case, they LIED about the facts concerning the transaction in question. They said they didn't even know how and where the transaction took place until I testified. They knew how and where the transaction took place before we ever even met. They also claimed that they were never aware of my wishes to file a tenant/landlord lawsuit, even though their ledger for my case (submitted as an exhibit for trial) clearly states in bold lettering TENANT/LANDLORD. They made a simple case that should have been quick and easy, insanely complicated, 10x's more expensive, and knowingly filed a lawsuit that could never have actually recovered the damages being sought. SCAM ARTISTS, PLAIN AND SIMPLE, DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! IF THEY ARE YOUR LAST RESORT... GO PRO SE. CRIMINALS. MONEY-HUNGRY DECEITFUL CRIMINALS.
