Good luck getting a straight answer. I referred several family and friends to this firm. I regret it deeply. Not only did this aloof firm drop the ball, I literally deal with the aftermath of family and friends because I vouched for the referral. I’ve been a healthcare provider for nearly 30 years and have worked with hundreds of law firms. This one leave me speechless.

Ash got a 15 year sentence offer of mine that the state would not budge on turned into a two year sentence.Astonishing considering I was offered 7.5 years to co operate against my co defendants. I have since reformed my life but I told Ash with all do respect I won’t snitch. He said ok,our visit ended.About 6 months into my Dallas County stay my dad came to visit me with tears in his eyes and said that Ash had gotten me a “2” 2 year sentence to TDC non agg.We we’re both floored and astonished. I was hoping to end up getting a 5 year sentence after sitting in Dallas county for a year. But Ash got me a 2,it still amazes me to this day and on top of that the price of his representation as low as you can get for free world representation on a dope case.Ash,I am 4ever grateful for u caring about my case. Don’t ever change, you saved my life. The End.Thats my testimony.GO ASH!!

A family member got in some trouble with the law "mixed up with the wrong crowd" and I'm the only one he had. We hired one of about 50 attorney’s that sent flyers and letters after my nephew's arrest. After the first court date he was offered probation, No other option. With my nephew being on the deans list at a local college pursuing a career in information technology security we could not accept. The attorney insisted my nephew would end up in jail if we didn’t take the offer.. I was about to accept the fact that my nephew’s life could take a turn for the worst and reached out to friends and family for second options. My uncle had a DWI case that got dismissed using Mr, Mehryari and highly recommended him. The next day we made contact with Mr, Mehryari “On Sunday morning” via his cell phone and gave us a free consultation and general advice. 2 months later we are in court again and Mr, Mehryari pulls us to a small room to discuss the case details, after talking on and off for an hour with our attorney going back and forth he was able to get my nephew differed adjudication meaning once he completed 6 month’s probation due to video evidence it would be completely off his record. He has completed everything and has a spotless record.. We are forever grateful to Mr, Mehryari and his staff..

Over the past several months, Ashkan Mehryari has worked diligently on my court case and has been supportive of me throughout the process; clarifying what actions need to be taken, as well as providing advice along the way of this harrowing experience. Mr. Mehryari is an understanding attorney, taking note of the circumstances at hand and how they may affect your life; for me as a single father, this is quite meaningful. Given this, he will work with you and do what he is able to obtain the best possible result for you, while lowering the stress associated with your legal experience. I am grateful for the services provided by Mr. Mehryari, and also completely satisfied with the results obtained on my court case. I highly recommend Mr. Mehryari and suggest that he is retained to anyone in need of a criminal defense attorney.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Dallas, Texas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
