He is truly gifted in simplifying the complex - without diluting the details necessary for effective communication to the jury. His cross examination skills are precise in exposing the weaknesses of opposing witnesses and counsel. His engaging personality and presentation capture and hold the attention of everyone in the courtroom. Needless to say no-one ever wants to hire a lawyer, but if you're faced with a situation that could haunt you for the rest of your life you definitely want the best. Well, I was faced with a DWI charge and I was more than terrified at the effect this could have on my life; I was in my early 20s with my whole life ahead of me. By a twist of fate, I received a letter from Chris's office, the last one before making my decision on representation and I decided to go for one more consultation. I'm SO glad I did! I've had almost three years to contemplate about writing this emotion-charged review. I hope I can adequately encapsulate our gratitude to Chris Lewis. Our legal battle was epic; full of intrigue, elements of danger, truths, and lies. We started this journey feeling despondent and scared because of the severity of the criminal charge and the damning immigration consequences of a conviction. We were faced with the other side who seemed omnipotent and relentless. We were ultimately up against Goliath, and we were David (literally since our surname translates to David). What we didn't expect, however, was the tremendous importance of having Chris defending us. Chris is intelligent, incredibly hard-working, zealous, and, sometimes, downright scary. He commands the respect of all of his peers (defense attorneys and prosecutors alike) and of the judges. Whenever my husband saw Chris at court, my husband would light up and feel encouraged because he "felt safe." He knew Chris would protect him and had his best interest in mind. If you want to be impressed and to witness the definition of a top advocate, you must watch Chris perform in the courtroom. He worked nonstop for 12 hours during voir dire (jury selection) and brought in his arsenal of attorneys to assist him. Yes, Chris busted the jury and after numerous trial resets and further negotiations, he was able to broker a plea agreement that would be anyone's dream: (1) avoiding jail time, (2) avoiding negative immigration consequences, and (3) having the right to apply for nondisclosure. David may have had his rock and slingshot, but we had Chris. My family and I will be forever thankful to Chris for his dedication and care. I can never recommend Chris Lewis enough and advise everyone to consult with him and ultimately trust him to handle their case.

Several years ago I was arrested for DWI. I began by hiring probably the most expensive DWI lawyer in my city, and was soon disheartened by how his office treated me. I quit the first attorney and hired Chris Lewis, and that decision ultimately saved me. From the outset, Chris had a strategy for my case that was insightful and practical. He evidently had the respect of judges and others in the courthouse, because his arguments convinced the judge to suppress nearly all of the evidence against me. The prosecutor finally dismissed the charges. Mr. Lewis could have done what so many mediocre lawyers do (the minimum), but instead he went to bat for me in a big way, and won my case. I am forever grateful. He is a shining example for others in his field; simply the best.

I couldn't have asked for a better defense attorney. If you need a defense attorney in Dallas, you need Chris Lewis. I was initially frustrated by his cool, laid back personality but discovered that playfulness in our meetings did not translate to laziness in the courtroom. Chris is extraordinarily capable, sharp and thoughtful. He's also well respected in the community which works to his clients benefit. Should your case go to trial, you want a lawyer who is charismatic, relatable and someone tuned in to the jury's psychology and motivation. Chris exhibits these qualities in a way that appears effortless. I don't normally write reviews but I am so impressed by Chris that even now, 5 years after he represented me, I feel very strongly that you couldn't find a better lawyer to represent you. If want an extremely clever lawyer who understands himself and his audience (jury/opposing counsel) and who will work hard not just because you're paying him but because he gets invested in his clients and cares about doing well for them, you want Chris Lewis.

I hired Chris Lewis for my ICE case, by referring to the indictment, he concluded that, this is going to be a case settle without trial, and it happened the way he predicted. Chris Lewis had convinced ICE team and led me successfully to the ICE team to have my testimony before them at the right time. And advocated my case before them positively so my testimony would work to release me from the case well before the trial. He is a nice person, friendly and supportive at your side during the case proceeding. Initially, I remembered telling him I wanted to give testimony. But at that time he said, it was not the right time. He was protective to the clients. What I felt during my association with him. If there were ten more stars (dots) for each of the above, Chris Lewis would get them all. I found myself in a very tough spot and in need of not just a good, but the best criminal defense lawyer I could find. I had heard from another friend that Chris took very good care of his case. After meeting with Chris I knew I had someone on my side that had excellent knowledge and experience. I felt more and more at ease as I received updates and progress reports. Long before I got the call that my case had been dismissed, I knew I had the right attorney representing me. Getting arrested for a crime, is a scary thing...compounded by the possibility of picking the wrong lawyer to represent you. Chris was honest with me from day one about the possible outcomes; the weaknesses; the strengths; and he didn't pull punches. "I'm not going to sugar coat it" was repeated throughout our first meeting. He's got the intelligence, experience, knowledge, and tenacity that is important for a good lawyer, but its his level of skill, his confidence, and his rare and unique charm that sets him apart.
