After a costly and brutal 6-year divorce with many hearings and two final trials my divorce was finalized with the judge being fair to both parties. However, the now ex-spouse did not agree and filed an appeal. I feared the settlement would be re-addressed and things could still be turned against me in the appeal. Mr. Kappel was referred to me by someone else and he was able to take my case and a difficult case that I thought would never be over and finish it off quickly. It is difficult to express gratitude to someone who walks with you through one of the most if not the most difficult times in a person's life. Divorce is not easy, even if both parties agree to terms. Mine was the picture of a disaster, not because of petty issues, but due to some pretty contentious opposing counsel and divorce terms. Divorce is not always about who gets the biggest win, but at least in my case, maximizing my time with my kids and my financial stability during the divorce and afterwards. I retained John for counsel and guidance in 2016 when I saw my marriage heading downhill.
