My husband is incarcerated and Vickie was appointed to help us. She did not advocate for him at all and lied to us in the mediation process to get him to accept the mediation. She emailed me the day before mediation and said she was fighting for him to keep his parental rights and for the children to come and live with me and then in the mediation she said I do not have standing and that his family did not "step up" so he needed to give up his parental rights. Vickie had my husband's sister's and grown daughter's contact information and both were willing to take the children yet she did not contact them. She did no investigation on his case, and she didn't even meet him until 5 minutes before mediation started though he was in Dallas for several days prior. She was rude to me and to my husband and completely unhelpful. If you get her as a court appointed attorney ask for another one! Maybe she actually helps the people who hire her, but she does nothing for people who cannot afford a lawyer.

I used Patrick McLain in 2009 to assist me in a military matter. He was very honest with me upfront as what to expect and was a no nonsense kind of person. For 3 years I was on the run from probation on a violation. I was always worried and looking behind my shoulders in fear that 'today would be that day'. I already had an attorney that I hired who said they could lift my warrant and get me back on track without having to turn myself in and well two weeks later after the initial payment of $1,500 he said he couldnt do it and that the only way to resolve my situation was to turn myself in.
