Erin Henricks is quite possibly the best at her job I’ve ever heard of, let alone seen with my own eyes. She was realistic, empathetic, and a fantastic lawyer—the trifecta! I am well educated (though not in law!) and her intelligence, fierceness at her job and overall goodness as a human being is so impressive! I seriously cannot express how much she has helped me and made things okay for me.

Back in September I was having a bad day, long story short I ended in police custody and in jail the correctional officers' severely beat me. The system then placed 3 felony charges against me, I was blindsided and when I got out of jail had no idea how I was going to handle this, I had never been in legal trouble. Erin was god sent, she understood my situation and explained to me the process. It was a lengthy period but she took care of me and pleaded for my case and all my charges were off the hook!

Some might be good but the one I retained charged me for her errors and charged me for emails to update me for delays on her end. About $5k later, I still don’t have a finalized partition agreement, which was created from a standard form. Although, she did mention that the standard form was “thoroughly reviewed” by the firm. Furthermore, the attorney I hired is a partner - the errors, delays, and considerable time charged for emailing incomplete drafts is extremely disappointing. My trust was also charged for a phone call prior to an executed representation agreement and without my knowledge. I pointed this out, but they “are not able to provide a refund”.

I hired Erin Hendrix to help me with a case that would’ve been a class A misdemeanor and that could have put my immigration status in jeopardy. With help of her friend Jeff Boncek they were able to bring the charge down to a class C misdemeanor that wouldn’t affect my immigration status. From the beginning she answered all my questions and gave me advice on what to do to help get the case resolved. Not only did she keep in touch with me to make sure everything was ok but she also kept in touch with my immigration lawyer to make sure the outcome of the case would not affect my immigration status. On top of convincing the DA to give me a charge that wouldn’t affect me as much as the original charge, they were able to keep me from having to pay $5,000 that the person who made the claim wanted as restitution. I ended up just having to pay the court fees & the fine for the class C misdemeanor. I still have probation but they let me know once that’s complete & the case is closed they could help me get the class C misdemeanor expunged from my record.

I have been mentoring a young man from an underprivileged area since he was in 6th grade. Unfortunately after graduation, he got into some trouble with a roommate and was accused of aggravated assault after a particularly nasty fight. Erin was graciously willing to provide indigent defense to my mentee. When we met with her, she was cool and professional, explaining in detail everything the court would need from us. She had a plan to defeat the indictment by getting the grand jury to no-bill (dismiss) the charges. She worked with us to prepare statements testifying to the character of my mentee and presented those to the court. In the end she succeeded in no-billing the charges. Were it not for her, my mentee would most certainly still be living under aggravated assault charges for an event that was in reality mutual combat.
