If I could rate this law firm zero stars, I would. My husband and I recently finalized our case which this firm was handling and I cannot express how much of a nightmare it was to work with them. It was actually shocking the experience we had, given that they had great reviews which is why we hired them during our time of need. Filing bankruptcy was something we never thought we would ever have to do but certain circumstances backed us into a corner, and this was legitimately our only option to help us financially. We first contacted Allmand around the very last part of July/beginning of August, yet we did not speak with an actual attorney for another month. This lead to a multitude of issues as their lower-level employees that are customer-facing gave us incorrect, misleading and misguided information on several MAJOR aspects of our case. When our attorney, Ms. Rey, heard of this she seemed shocked and informed us that these employees had indeed unfortunately misinformed us on what actually needed to proceed with our case, but the damage had already been done and this put us in even more of a financial bind than we were already in having to file bankruptcy in the first place. We met with Ms. Rey just after Labor Day, and at that time she had urged us to complete the necessary paperwork immediately so that she could file our case. However- despite this pressure on her/the firm’s end to file immediately, our case was actually not filed until the end of September. We then had a creditor meeting during the first week of November; prior to the meeting my husband and I were bombarded with emails reminding us to attend the meeting and to make sure that we logged onto the virtual meeting early. But apparently Allmand cannot follow their own guidelines! Our representing attorney (that we had NEVER met with or spoken to) was late to the meeting and even admitted to the trustee that she had not reviewed our case until we were actually in the meeting that day. My husband and I were completely embarrassed and at this point felt hopeless that the firm we hired that was supposed to be representing us and our best interest had failed to do so. We called the firm immediately after being dismissed from the meeting to express our concerns and were told someone would reach out to us within the next 24 hours- which never happened. We went the remainder of November and most of December with extremely limited communication, and only received an email reminding us to complete a required credit course to finalize our case. Allmand Law was also supposed to be in communications to our vehicle loan providers as we were surrendering our vehicles as part of this case, only to find out after our case was closed that they had not done so like we were told and that we would be responsible for scheduling the repossession of said vehicles. Overall this firm was absolutely horrible to work with and I cannot stress enough to hire another firm to represent you in a bankruptcy case.
