In January, 2017, I needed the help of a divorce attorney; a good friend recommended Lauren Harris of Calabrese Budner. After speaking to her over the phone, I met with Lauren, who put me at ease immediately. Remarkably personable and easy to talk to, Lauren communicates well and is incredibly understanding. I knew I didn’t want a “bulldog” attorney. I wanted the process to be as amicable as possible, and Lauren understood my goal. Every question I had, she answered clearly. When problems came up, she responded quickly. She actually tried to talk me out of going down some roads too quickly: far from pushing to take money, she offered options on items I could do myself to make the process less costly. This case should have been simple—despite terribly slow opposing counsel and unreasonable demands from my ex--and with Lauren’s help, it was. In the end, we were able to settle for substantially less money than I would have thought possible. The only time I went to court was to submit the final decree. Available and responsive to questions or concerns, upfront about the process and the costs involved, Lauren treated me and my case as individual and unique. I never felt she was going through the motions. Lauren is a caring, dedicated, perceptive young lawyer. I could not have closed this case without her. I never doubted that she was working in my best interest and for the best possible outcome. Should I ever need an attorney again, Lauren would be the first one I would call.
