Choose literally anybody else. There’s a lot of turnover at this office, which may hurt your case. The individuals doing the case work do not seem to communicate with each other. I don’t believe the newly hired counsel very knowledgeable, issues with misprounouncing common words which may weaken your case or make communication during negotiation less effective. If you have a something other than immigration, consider other counsel. The last lawyer I had was Deonte, and after several back and forth calls to the company we were negotiating with, it eventually became clear that he was a very ineffective communicator, and my case was suffering because of it. I had to move on to find another person who wasn’t having as many problem with pronounciation or communication. After they had already collected my fee. Like they were happy to without actually resolving the issue. Update: Jasmit has taken on the case personally and is resolving the issue. I have not heard from Deonte but am happy that Jasmit has contacted the company and has kept me updated along the way. This has given me peace of mind to know that this matter will be resolved soon. The matter was resolved.

Do not hire them. Since this is my first experience with the court system, I wanted to hire a lawyer. I have had nothing but problems with this firm. The lawyer I hired left the company and my case was reassigned to another lawyer. No one called or contacted me to notify me of the change. I received an email with a different signature but assumed it was another secretary since he did not specify that my case was reassigned. I did not find out about the change until the WEEK BEFORE my court date. Old lawyer wanted to fight my case due to self defense. New lawyer didn't know anything about my case. He did not ask to meet me, hear my story and when he met the judge on my behalf, he was unable to answer simple questions that the judge asked about me. (The judge asked if I was working, where and if I was attending university) I just wanted to case to be over with so I aired my concern but let it go. Fast forward to today. Today was supposed to be my last day in court. I waited almost two hours without hearing from my lawyer, deontae. I had to call the office and tell them to get him to call me. When I finally spoke to him, he told me that the judge is preparing for the trial of a different case and my case is being pushed to another date. And he had known that for a little while. Once again, he neglected to contact me regarding important information about my case. He then attempted to get me to sign paperwork that was not filled out and got angry when I asked him to explain what the form was. This firm is a waste of money. I also attempted to meet with jasmit since my complaint is about her employee but the secretary is somehow unable to view her schedule so that was a dead end. Avoid this firm if you want to be treated considerably after paying thousands of your hard earned dollars.

I was able to meet Jasmit and Deontae, both attorneys of Law Office of JD. Wonderful experience! Jasmit has many years experience in immigration law, family law, and civil litigation. She devotes herself to get the best possible results. Donate is a very energetic and skilled attorney. He puts himself in the clients’ shoes and listen to the clients’ needs.

I have had nothing but great legal help from Mr. Humphries and appreciate his no nonsense attitude thats straight to the point open honest legal approach to each individual case. He will never tell you anything that he can't deliver on and has always made better than good on the things he can accomplish for you on each individual basis. I have also recommended him to many friends and they were ALL more than grateful for his knowledge of not only criminal law but his personal experience with all of the prosecutors in Dallas County. Although there are times when he may seem as though he is extremely busy it's only because an attorney like him is in such high demand and none the less you'll be grateful you chose him for your legal defense.
