I never thought I’d need a divorce lawyer, but when I did Malorie Crosley got me through it with the utmost professionalism. Her entire team was great, in particular Clair Rivera. They both kept me informed at all times, always listened to what I needed and wanted, and were so patient in explaining and walking me through each process. Despite the ugliness that my case involved, they got my divorce finalized in a timely fashion. I am eternally thankful for their hard work.

In late 2012, as a result of abuses by my daughter’s husband toward her and her two boys, we retained Duane Coker and his firm. A nearly five year battle ensued and pretty much exposed us to the seedy side of divorces in Denton County, Texas. In particular, those who allegedly support the courts and the attorneys…court appointed psychologists, court appointed Guardians Ad Litem etc. We should have realized these people had an agenda, but should never have wasted time and worry figuring out what it was. It was as frustrating as anything I’ve ever encountered. Duane Coker, however, had the ability to see through, cut through and drive through the bullsh*t. We endured the pain of seeing young boys be forced to visit overnight with a man who previously broke their bones, exposed them to drunken tirades which resulted often in physical attacks on them and their mother. Yet Duane remained steady, explanatory, reasonable, and calm. He knew how to remove fear by simply sharing what was really predictable. While he did not often agree with the trends of that time period as far as “reuniting” families, he understood and helped us understand the process more often than not would eventually result in justice being served. He was strategically able to minimize the visitations because he knew as well the danger involved. He knew the aforementioned support group, while well-meaning had not yet grasped the kind of criminal the father truly was. Still he adroitly managed not only the “support group” but the opposing law firm, and every situation, while being completely honest, though pointed with the judge involved. His tactics were never underhanded, but straightforward. He never resorted to trickery, but he also did not broadcast his plans. Finally in 2017, the father gave up his parental rights, and showed his true colors: that being he had no interest in reuniting with, nurturing and fathering his sons, unless the end result could be he continue to control and thus abuse in some form or manner their mother. Duane even predicted it would happen, though he was surprised as were we all, it took so long. The case was expensive, but this was more due to the time the situation called for. Associates were involved, filings were involved, meetings, communications, motions for enforcement, contempt, and to compel. He had staff to pay to get it all done and it was, as mentioned a five year battle. In reality the cost was reasonable and well worth it. If there was ever a billing issue, it was fixed and it was minimal…so minimal, in fact, I barely remember . Thanks to Duane Coker and all of the heroes at his firm, our grandsons and daughter are safe. While they still have questions and while we never spoke ill of their father to them or in front of them, the boys are healthy and growing and most of all happy, well adjusted and thriving. This too, in part is due to the solid advice given by Duane Coker. There is no doubt in our minds Mr Coker is one of the best attorneys in the country, and his firm is simply remarkable. The results say it as loudly as do we.

Shelby was great. He was very knowledgeable and very professional. I’d use him again in a heartbeat. But alas, I’m not adopting again!

I was more than taken care of by this law firm. My attorney Shelby Hart believed in my case since day one. My situation was far from easy, I was trying to move out of state with my son to start a family with my husband. His father wanted to restrict me to the county I currently lived it. I was turned away by another attorney because she said there was no way I had a chance. But when I called Shelby he was nothing but uplifting, positive, and honest about the risk and chances but was reassuring of my chance and possibilities.
