Good quality people at this firm! I worked with Julie Waters when she was new to Family Law. I have enjoyed seeing her blossom. She is always pleasant, courteous and professional. She is an integral part of the team at Varghese Summersett!

I recently found myself in need of a divorce attorney, and at the recommendation of a friend, I called Kristen Carr at Varghese Summersett. From speaking with Julie during the intake process, to finally meeting with Kristen and Brittni, I was treated with empathy and kindness. Kristen and Brittni answered every question, didn't make me feel dumb for not knowing how things would work, and every concern I had during this process was put at ease. Kristen told me exactly what to expect through the mediation process, and what she advised is exactly what happened. I never worried about the "what ifs" with Kristen and Brittni on my team. I would most definitely recommend them again!!

Last week, a frightening situation involving a threat of gun violence took place at my child’s school. I had a lot of questions about the school administration’s choices and how to keep my child safe under the circumstances. When I contacted attorney Lisa Herrick, she quickly grasped the situation, asked insightful questions, and offered valuable advice for moving forward. I was grateful that she didn’t just consider the legal questions involved. She also addressed the practical implications for our family in a realistic way. If you’re looking for an attorney to guide you with both intelligence and compassion during a crisis, Lisa Herrick should absolutely be your first call.

Morgan Hackwell assisted with a custody case I had a couple of years ago with the law firm she was previously with. Anytime I picked up the phone and had any questions, if she didn’t know the answer, she never put me down for a call back. She would stay on the phone with me until she had an answer, even if it was just temporary. I couldn’t have asked for a better assistant to work with!!!!!! Varghese Summersett is beyond lucky to have her!!!

My experience with Varghese Summersett was absolutely horrible. Benson was my attorney but he was neglectful and failed to answer my basic questions. The attorneys kept me in jail weeks longer than I needed to be by requesting unnecessary evaluations on me after I was charged with theft of a motor vehicle. Benson and Anna both went to court for me and neither seemed very familiar with the facts of my case. Only after requesting a court-appointed attorney and alleging malpractice on their part were they willing to try to get my charges dismissed. I was treated as less than human throughout the entire process. I couldn't even see the information from my file. They charged $7500 and gave me a $2000 refund whenever the case was dismissed. I cannot argue with the fact that these attorneys, in some ways, are top notch. They have close ties with many of the judges and prosecutors in Tarrant County, and no doubt have among the best credentials. However, be warned. They would rather do what is easiest for them while at the same time making it sound like it is the best "deal" or outcome for their clients. (Clients are manipulated into thinking they are taking the best deal even if they are not.) I am lucky that I did not take the plea bargain they were pushing for me to take. I realize the plea bargain they wanted for me meant less work on their part, but it was lazy of them to want me to pick this option whenever just a little more work could get my case dismissed completely. Had I not done my own research on my case, I would have a pending felony on my record. If I could do zero stars, I would. Edit: The firm contacted my grandfather about my review so he decided to write one of his own (see below). He knows everything I have said is true, but he wants to keep peace in the family. It is a complicated situation because the rest of my family (besides my grandparents) plan to hire these attorneys if/when they get caught for various crimes ranging from sex offenses to selling counterfeit products. The "family friend" is my brother's wife. Instead of deciding there was a conflict of interest, the attorneys illegally tried to have me institutionalized in a psychiatric ward to benefit my family. I am proud to say I am back in college and moving on with my life, no thanks to Benson or Anna. As a side note, Benson was just kind of creepy. Also, the rationality or logic of a police officer recommending a specific firm while placing someone under arrest seems kind of odd to me. (See other 5 star review below where this situation is mentioned). Sounds shady. However, as I did mention, they do have close ties to the community, so I guess that includes police officers as well. Still find this odd given the circumstances. Everything about this firm is weird.
