I had Chrys review and validate my parent's wills and also had her set up additional HIPPA documents. This went just fine. I then asked for guidance regarding getting my mother (who has dementia) getting health home care because I had tried once and had failed due to my parent's finances and I also provided a balance sheet for her regarding my parent's finances. She informed me about STAR + PLUS program and almost guaranteed my my mother would qualify for STAR + PLUS program based on our discussion in her office. I got my mother on the list and completed the 40 page document to only get denied the STAR + PLUS benefits. I emailed her about it and asked for direction in the event there was another option. She basically ignored my e-mail and had also told me about a Lady Bird Deed but her rate was way high and she told me I would have to file it with the County myself even if she provided the deed. I was disappointed how things ended especially when her specialty is this type of law and she didn't seem to really care about me or my mother as a client.

Our case was complicated to say the least. After consulting and working with three different lawyers/legal assistants, we were pointed in Chrys' direction. Thank goodness. Grandmother's estate wasn't large but had many components. Other advisors never explained to the full extent necessary what records we (the family) needed to keep for Medicaid or helped us in our journey. In the 11th hour, Chrys stepped up and worked well into the night on several occasions-even consulting with us by cell phone long after business hours. We were on a time crunch and she explained everything thoroughly and completely; even making our to-do lists for us. I would recommend Chrys and feel she knows the ins and outs of elder law. I know I've received an education and am thankful for it.

Being a single mom of a DeafBlind Multiple Disabled child, I hired Chrys Jones to set up a Will and a Special Needs Trust before I could retire. I needed help in understanding what kind of trust as well as information about using the new ABLE account. I finally realized that my Will was the after thought with the ABLE being the forethought of Ms. Jones - even though every meeting/email I stressed I was about to retire and had to have a Will set up specifically for funds to be given to my child’s trust. I believe my mistake was paying in advance the full amount of $2500. I just feel like I was never really understood. I was never given a written record of how my money was used and in her final letter she said it would be better to consult another attorney for anything further. Billing was never sent to me yet she said the will was 1000 and the rest was used for research at 250/hr. Unbelievable!!! I asked her if she really thought she did all the work to equal the 2500. There is no way!

I used Chrys to help me with a problem with a past employee. The employee had violated a non-compete clause in her contract and refused to pay the penalty, I talked with Chrys. Within two weeks I had a cashiers check and the problem was resolved. I also use Chrys in the field of elder law. She is the only Attorney I refer my clients to who need help. Whether it's elder law, medicare & medicaid, or veteran benefits Chrys Jones is my go to.
