Sharon Giraud, Represented me in my child custody case against the state of Texas in 2023. This was a very long drawn out process, with a lot of emphasis on my emotions during this time; due to being in the process of recovering from alcoholism. I participated in a program that Ms Giraud had recommended, “ Family Recovery Court.” Admittedly, this was not an easy task, along with this came a tremendous amount of uncertainty, and just some plain out of the ordinary instances were brought upon our path along the process of this CPS case! We, stood strong as she lead the way. It was a lengthy case, very time consuming which required being prepared & present every other Friday & quite possibly more if needed on my behalf. I would have to say I was grateful for the opportunity to have Sharon Giraud as my representative for this case. She is very thoughtful, thorough, and knowledgeable. Her mannerisms were excellent, she is very responsive, punctuality is great! The presentation to judge, as well as her professionalism had been very positive work. I think that my attitude towards the process of “Family Recovery Court “ was changed by the direction given from, Ms Giraud, she supported me and encouraged me entirely throughout the case. Fortunately, with her support I was provided a very different perspective and given her ingenuity on what I would refer to being more optimistic or openness, it enabled me to face my fears head on, fight for what I love. I completed recovery court, graduated, and most importantly regained custody of my beautiful 10 year old daughter. So, I highly recommend “ Sharon Giraud “as a legal counsel for “ANY” matters seeking concerns that are wanted to be addressed honestly, fair, respectfully, & genuine.

If you are looking for exceptional representation from an experienced lawyer who will be your guide though the exceedingly complicated and highly emotional dealings of family law, you need to call Mr Bailey. My son hired Mr. Bailey for a very complicated custody case. Mr Bailey listened and heard every concern from both my son & myself. Throughout life I have known many attorneys, none have impressed me more than Mr Bailey. Mr Bailey understands when it comes to family law there are two costs involved; the financial costs and the emotional costs. I found that Mr Bailey’s fees are minimal when you consider all you are getting with his representation. With family law there is typically a plethora of emotions, the psychological toll, which tends to run high and experienced by the family involved. My son’s case was very hard on his emotions. I admired how Mr Bailey’s calm approach and disposition helped ease my son’s anxiety throughout the case. His approach to family law is totally client-centered and seems to be based on the belief that his clients and their children deserve the best opportunity for a happy, healthy and productive life beyond the high emotions of custody cases. Mr Bailey’s clients will benefit from his professionalism and vast knowledge of family law. The insight he has gained from his experience and extensive work in family law gives him an understanding and ability to see the case through a multifaceted lens. Mr Bailey gave my son realistic and candid advice, not some rehearsed line which promises you a hyped up great outcome (false hopes) to suck you into a costly and drawn out case. If you have expectations of your lawyer to be knowledgeable, hardworking, and communicative then Mr Bailey is the attorney you are seeking. Mr Bailey will keep you apprised on the details of the case, while explaining the different options you can take, putting you in the drivers seat. Mr. Bailey is an advocate for single fathers, explaining to my son that fathers are essential and play a vital role in a child’s life. What really stood out was that Mr Bailey has also achieved an AV Preeminent 5.0 out of 5 Peer Review Rating! He not only has great reviews from his clients, his peers also see the value of his great work.

I hired Ms.Giraud to help me with a small Estate Affidavit in April. She did send off paperwork, but was told it needed corrections. Didn't hear anything from her. In June she needed the witnesses to resign......come July one of the witnesses told me she didn't get the paperwork to sign. I made sure it was signed!. In September Ms Girauld told me a judge won't sign off on the Affidavit and she needed to check with another lawyer as to what to do. Needless to say...I'm done. I texted her every week to check on progress.....most weeks I never heard a word! Wasted $600!!!!!!!

I am an attorney in Salt Lake City Utah. I located Mr. Sanders on Avvo, when one of my small business clients was sued in federal court for the District of Texas. Mr. Sanders was responsive, provided urgent assistance in the case and directed us to a local published opinion almost directly on point. His responsiveness allowed my client to make some important decisions quickly. I was very impressed with Mr. Sanders.

Great lawyer. Helped me when 2 other attorneys would not and got a great result. The defense attorney thought very highly of Mr. Collins as did the adjuster and they knew he would go to trial if he thought it should. That helped get the case settled.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fort Worth, Texas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
