****BUYER BEWARE**** THEY WILL BE CHARGING YOU AN OUTRAGEOUS HOURLY RATE INFLATED ONLY BY THEIR EGO AND NOT THE RESULTS PRODUCED IN THE COURT ROOM... My attorney was Julie Kirkpatrick, she was a very nice lady throughout the whole process. Due to the fact I paid her over 14k and then some. You add money to a thing they call a "trust"...my trust would go down a few thousand dollars and all we've done is sent a few emails back and forth. Where did all my money go? You start asking questions they will send you a "bill breakdown" but on this breakdown you have no way to actually validate what they say they have done they have actually done. It's more of a "trust us we're not ripping you off" type scenario. Clearly I was being ripped off. My case was a simple case. No divorce, no splitting of assets, just a simple residency case. I was trying to keep my children in Dallas county so their mother couldn't move them far away from me. I'm very proactive in my childrens life and wanted to keep them close to me so I can stay active in their life. I stressed to my attorney over and over, it's not about the money I have to pay in child support. My tax return speaks for itself, it's literally in white and black on paper. It speaks for itself. I stressed over and over we need to talk about the residency issue when my day in court comes. Well...on my day of court each side was granted 20 min each to question each opposing party. My attorney literally spent atleast 17 minutes of our 20 minutes we were given talking about my tax return, the money. It was never about the money. It was always about residency and the most important issue I stressed was just neglected. Safe to say, she gets to move my children. My attorney clearly didn't have my best interest at heart and more or less just did whatever she wanted and not what I asked. WHAT I PAID 14 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR.... IN SUMMARY: if you are a Dallas cowboys fan you will completely understand this. These people will make you feel good. Make you feel confident. Get your hopes up. Tell you everything you want to hear while completely ripping you off and when the big day comes they will completely drop the ball and let you down. I do believe I could have produced better results just representing myself and saved myself well over the 14 THOUSAND dollars I wasted. To top it off, they emailed me asking for more money. I emailed back how much do they think? She replied atleast another $2,500 (and this is after she completely failed in court)....ya right. Fool me once your fault, fool me twice my fault. I highly recommend seeking a different attorney office other than this one. Maybe an up and coming attorney who actually has your best interests at heart and who won't rip you off especially after going through such an emotional experience such as divorce or something similar. You're already emotionally drained and all this office will do is help drain you financially and produce sub par results...

Scroggins Law is an absolute beast of a firm. Julie Kirkpatrick is the best of the best! My case was in a different county, and Julie KILLED IT !!!! Julie is so adaptive and knows how to effectively respond to challenges that arise throughout the case, her moves are smart and intentional. She has grit, and heart that makes you feel safe. Not sure how many lawyers or firms can win a case in a county they have never practiced in, if that doesn't convince you how incredible the team is, not sure what else will.
