When I needed to find and hire an attorney for a contentious child custody case, I knew only Lisa Hernandez would be able to be up for the challenge. Hired Hernandez for a divorce. She did a great "sales pitch" when I interviewed her. She openly admitted that opposing council was going to be aggressive and will "make it harder than it has to be". She knew what she was up against. Temporary Hearing. A train wreck. Opposing council was organized and executed his plan perfectly. Hernandez was unprepared and had no game plan. I had supplied her with documentation to counter opposing council. She never presented it. Following day I asked her why. She said she "could not do that to another woman". Well, she had no problem doing it to me. She also told me adult kids that "this divorce will probably wipe me out". I fired her. Hired a competent firm. Ultimately. I was back in my home in two months. Got sole custody of my daughter. Achieved a fair division of property. I want my money back.

Lisa Hernandez has represented me for a long time. My divorce was as nasty as they get, and my ex-wife is still causing trouble, which requires continuing legal assistance. Lisa has been patient, helpful, informative, honest, and supportive. She is an incredible lawyer but probably not very business savvy and she is conservative on the billing (she does not bill as much as she should), so this results in her being a little overworked and occasionally very overworked. If your case is complicated, hire your own forensic accountant, and read every document five times. Do not rely on her staff. But make sure Lisa is the one representing you in court. No other lawyer will care about you as much as she does, nobody will argue your case as effectively, and nobody will get you results anywhere near what she can get you. Now for the angel part. Lisa is a good person. This comes across very quickly. Judges can be subjective and rule for whoever they like. Because she is a good person, Lisa is well liked by everyone in the family law community. Judges, mediators, arbitrators all love her.
