Jo has been fantastic. She answered all of my questions and more about the case to really make sure I understood what was going on. Even with the different Covid-19 precautions in place, she was able to find the right people to talk to to push my case along. I couldn't have gotten a decline of charges without her!

Jo came recommended from a Travis Co Sheriff friend of mine that reached out to an Austin attorney friend of his. With that recommendation alone I knew I was in the right hands. Having never been in trouble with the law and catching a DWI was the scariest and most shameful moment of my life. From the initial phone conversation with Jo, her willingness to meet me after hours, up to our initial handshake, she never allowed me to feel embarrassment or shame. I honestly can't say enough great things about her. On a couple of occasions I had to text her for reassurance. I felt that I needed to be more worried or anxious after seeing all the hell everyone else was dealing with. She honestly made this horrible situation so painless. The occasional joke through text plus always being "in the know" about my case, made me feel as if I wasn't just another $ client $. That feeling alone, I will forever be grateful for. Jo went out of her way to always make sure I was informed and also made sure my family was informed at all times. Amongst the legal situation I was in, I was anything but hopeful. Jo made it clear that she was going to do everything she could to help me. I am a fully tattoo covered 21 year old whom most people assume is up to no good at first glance, Jo did nothing of the sort. Our 15 year old adopted daughter received trauma from her birth parents and the foster care system. We contacted CPS for funding to place her in a residential treatment center to provide mental health services. Our phone calls and texts were ignored until we met Jo. Within a week, CPS scheduled a meeting with us and started the process. Our daughter was placed, received the help she needed, and returned home. She is back in school and making straight As. Jo worked closely with our us throughout the process. Our daughter has a brighter future because of caring professional people like Jo. February 1st I found myself in a legal situation I never expected to be in but there I was in it, lost, uneducated and confused on how to get out of it. Felt torn between hiring an attorney¸ which to be honest is most peoples first option due to the stigma that surrounds court appointed attorneys, none the less I took a chance and went with a court appointed attorney and was beyond satisfied with her efforts and attention to my case right off the bat. I was introduced to Attorney Poenitzsch on a whim, so happy I was. I had a traffic case lingering over my head that was soon to turn into a class b misdemeanor since 2013.
