Emily was great, always patient and answered my questions as we knew nothing about how this process would work. She was kind and understood our many concerns. I feel she worked hard for us and was able to get the best possible result for my daughter. I would definitely recommend Emily!

my first charge ever, a felony charge she was able to get dismissed insead of me having to do time. she also got the felony arrest expunged off my record. she understands and gives people like me a second chance. she saved me!

When I first got arrested for DWI, I was a 20 year old student. I was recommended by my brother in law who also owns his own firm that focuses on injurys from accidents. I reached out to Emily back in 2015 to represent me and immediately she believed in my case. She fought long and hard for me, and most importantly, she truly believed I was wrongfully accused. I had violations on my bond and was arrested and she got my PR bond reinstated. Then I had violations AGAIN. This time the offer I was originally granted to keep this off my record was gone. Then they put a SRAM ankle monitor on my leg. The next court date, we find out my arresting officer is deployed in Afghanastan. And at this moment it's 1 year after I was arrested, been back to jail twice, and put a ankle monitor on. This was my first arrest, no prior convictions, and I'm a student. They offered me 9 months probation with a monitor, and Emily Detoto got my case dismissed. I walked out with a clean record. I would recommend Emily Detoto to anyone looking for a superior lawyer you can trust will fight for you.

It seems like when a person has been accused of a crime, and their freedom is in question, having the right attorney makes all the difference. Emily has extensive knowledge of criminal law and the appeals process. I have personally retained her firm previously, and I can not tell you how happy I am with the outcome. I hate when bad things happen to good people. I feel like I’m a good person and that I’m perceived as a good person, however, when profiled and misjudged, it leads to a bad outcome. On February 3, 2014, I was profiled and assaulted by two Houston police officers at Throne nightclub. Throne is located on Washington Avenue, a known area for profiling. I was assaulted by Officer Lopez and Officer Mike Ferguson. I was dragged outside of Throne and choked. Afterwards, I was charged with an assault on a police officer. This year has been the hardest year of my life. I had just started a new business and I had only been on another part-time job at Saks Fifth Avenue for several months. My birthday was a week away and I was wrongfully accused, assaulted, and thrown in jail, charged with assault on a police officer. I met Emily Detoto the day I was released from jail on bond. There was an instant chemistry between us, and I knew she was the lawyer for me. She kept me calm throughout the case, and was always present when I needed her. I appreciate her never making me feel guilty, before proven innocent. She believed I was innocent and showed up from that vantage point every time in court. "THE BEST DEFENSE IS KNOWING MORE THAN YOUR OPPONENT," and Emily knew every detail of my case. She was like a Cape Buffalo in the court room; very strong and unpredictable. No one can do what she did for me. Not only did I win my case, but I gained a life friend. Miss Emily was a great help to my family. My son had gotten into some trouble and we didn't know what to do. This was the first time anything like this has ever happened in our family. She had us meet her in her office and she explained things to us in the process of going to court and what to expect.
