I was referred to Ms. Walker by a retired lawyer who told me that if he were facing a charge for DUI that there was exactly one person he would hire. From the very first phone conversation I was treated with dignity and respect and Mekisha was extremely thorough regarding the process that would play out. She balances kindness with confidence and immediately reassured me at a time when I needed to know that I had the best representation in my corner. On my first court date she was the first lawyer to arrive which says a lot about her professionalism and she was always incredibly quick to respond to any questions via email or text I had throughout the process. She was clearly is clearly liked and respected by everyone in the court, from the D.A. and judge to the bailiff. I spoke with some other highly regarded lawyers before choosing Ms. Walker and none of them had the same combination of experience, competence and warmth. She helped get me a pretrial diversion when on paper I shouldn't have even been eligible and I honestly think that she personally made the difference. I always felt prepared for every step in the process and she always made a point to explain everything in easy to understand terms. It was early on a new year morning when I needed to find an attorney for my son. I reached out to a few highly rated attorneys but none picked up their phone. Then I got to Mrs. Walker. I woke her up! She guided me with what to do first. I later met with her again to see if she would be the right fit for his need. I also interviewed a few more highly rated attorneys. Some promised a dismissal outcome. Some are less expensive. Mrs. Walker did not promise a dismissal outcome but I respect that. My original lawyer told me that when the case was dismissed it would also be expunged and I didn't see it on public background checks so I thought it was, but not true. Mrs. Walker is THE LAWYER I hired Mrs. Walker to handle criminal charges I was facing in Harris County and I was very satisfied with her work. She is professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate.
