Chris was very professional and straightforward with me the entire time of my case. I had caught a D.W.I. and didn't know where to turn until I visited the Thiessen law firm. Upon speaking with Chris I knew he was the person I was looking to hire to defend me. Chris was very easy to communicate with and he always called me back if he missed my call. And the results were just what I was looking for when he told me my case was dismissed! I'm not only pleased with the results of my case but the true professionalism of Chris and the rest of the Thiessen law firm are second to none.

Mark is an exceptional lawyer. There are many lawyers who say they fight for clients but Mark walks the talk. When it comes to training he goes all out as well. I came to know Mark as he and I attended the same training together at Axion Labs in Chicago and we both took the certification test at the same time and successfully passed it becoming Certified Lawyer-Scientists through the American Chemical Society. It was a tough course that comprised of four different hands on scientific courses totaling over 120 hours of training and took two years to complete. There are less than 75 Certified Lawyer-Scientists in the entire country. I have also had the great privilege of watching Mark speak on scientific issues as well as speak with him at a conference recently. He is an excellent lawyer who will fight for you and who does so because he has received excellent training. I know. I was there when he was learning it. I do not endorse many lawyers but I would trust my freedom with Mark if I was in trouble. You should too.

I contacted Mr. Thiessen at the recommendation of a friend from church who was a former Harris County District Attorney turned Defense Attorney who had seen him in action. I was facing DWI #2 when I asked her to represent me. Knowing the levity of the situation she said, word for word "You need the best, you need Mark Thiessen." Long story short he has worked with me closely deciding the course of action on my case. When it came time for action, he won my ALR Drivers License hearing right off the bat which means I retained my driving privelage until the outcome of the case and in this case, over 7 months. He always answered my calls, any questions and kept me in the loop of the going on behind the scenes. I never felt as if I were being mishandled and more importantly I never felt lied to. He has a to the point, no bull**** but compassionate demeanor; in other words he won't lie to you or tell you what you want to hear, only what you need to hear. I was facing jail time, heavy fines, among other things when we were ready to plead. He really wanted to fight my case and never did I feel he wouldn't have been a pit bull the D.A. would have dreaded seeing across the court room. For me, the best choice was to take the plea bargain as I needed to get on with my life. By trying the case it would've likely been after the New Year. With that in mind, Mark negotiated hard with the D.A. and got my black and white, cut and dry DWI #2 case reduced to a Class B misdemeanour from an A. No jail, no probation but only a fine. He also set up my occupational license pathway to stay on the road legally without ever missing a beat. I walked away extremely happy with my experience with Mark. He is a consummate professional.

I worked with Joseph Ruiz for close to a decade. His office was next to mine. I witnessed him work late nights and long hours going over videos and reports and other evidence in preparation for trial. He is truly one of the hardest working attorneys I have ever seen. He genuinely cares about his clients and he emotionally invests himself in the outcomes of his clients’ cases. Great attorney to have represent you - hands down.

If you are looking for an honest attorney who will truly fight for you and do what is in your best interest, I recommend you hire Joseph Ruiz. I referred a person to him who was unhappy with the attorney they had hired. Mr. Ruiz quickly took over the case, charged a reasonable fee, handled the case like a true professional, and got the case dismissed!

Long story short... Mark got my case dismissed. It would have been my second DUI. All lawyers say they will fight for you. Mark really means it.

Mr Ruiz is elequent, understanding swift and knowledgable. He has a calming presence in the midst of the courtroom circus. He helped me get a dismissal with case that could have gone much worse without his expertise. On top of that, he is affordable as well as honest. Many thanks!!

DUI is a ticket, we don’t do tickets. 2. $10k clients have my cell and never complain. 3. It’s very rare a client gets Jail, never on a misdemeanor, and absolutely never if I’m not there. And 4. In about 15 years of practice we’ve had 3 clients that didn’t get along and we refunded their money. We are not in it for the money. We practice law because people need our help. We love fighting for the under dog and treat our clients VIP.
