Several years ago, I had the unfortunate experience of having the contractor for my custom home go bankrupt. Building a home was stressful enough in and of itself, but it became a nightmare when I found out five months after moving into the home that my contractor had not paid several of his subcontractors in full and they were then coming after me for something I had already paid the contractor for. I wasn’t the big fish of a client that partners in law firms typically take on, and the amount the subcontractors were seeking was trivial for most, but it was a big deal to me and my young family. I was fortunate that the window to file a lien on my property had passed. I hired Joshua in February of 2018 to represent me in a RCLA (Residential Construction Liability Act) claim after failing to resolve warranty issues with my builder on my own.
