I have nothing but good things to say about Makris Law Firm. It has been a good experience all around. The attorney was very prepared for my hearing. He made sure I knew what was going to happen and answered all my questions. I felt confident going into the hearing that I had the best help. All the staff is very personable and friendly. When he called before the hearing to talk I immediately connected and felt like he was on my side. Like many my initial SSDI application (prior to hiring Makris) was denied at the initial and reconsideration steps. I was thoroughly discouraged because I felt I had adequate documentation and my forms were filled out properly. At this point I retained the services of Makris. Basically all I did was go to their office, fill out a bunch of paperwork and gave them what I had already sent to the SSA. After that initial meeting they handled everything. They contacted me when necessary to fill out additional forms as needed. I got a hearing scheduled very quickly (as compared to other reports I’ve read online). The day before the hearing one of the attorneys called me to go over the entire process and do a practice run through of the type of questions I would need to answer during the hearing (because of Covid my hearing was via phone conference call). The next day the hearing happened and I really felt prepared and wasn’t nearly as nervous as I thought I’d be thanks to that prep call. My appeal was approved and now I’m just waiting for my case to finish processing so I can begin to receive payments. Even if it was denied I would still leave this same review as I feel like they did what they were supposed to do and did it professionally, and ultimately approval or not is in the hands of the judge and based on my individual situation. EXCELLENT results, staff, front desk, services, and preparation! Everything. My doctor had another patient who had a favorable outcome with Makris Law Firm so she recommended them. So glad she did. Victor Makris works tirelessly and is extremely knowledgeable. They did all my appeals, got my medical records, timely answered my questions and concerns, prepared me before the hearing and held my hand all the way. It’s not an easy process. You have to be reasonable and patient (it took 2 ½ years to get a hearing), not whine and work together toward your goal. More than one of the doctors who had treated me didn’t respond to the law firms request for my medical records. In most cases a simple phone call from me to that doctor's office kindly explaining how important it was for me to get disability worked miracles in getting them to send the records. Together we made it happen. Makris Law Firm is the best!

Somewhat disappointing experience. There is little to no communication. My hearing was in September and I was advised that the judge had 90 days to make a decision. The only time I even spoke with the attorney representing me was late afternoon the day before my hearing. I'm approaching the 90 day mark and have heard nothing from the office. I sent an email to my contact at the office on Monday and it's now Friday, with no response. Based on the experience I've had, I'm fully expecting a denial and gearing up to have to start all over with a new attorney. Edited to add: Surprisingly, I did receive a favorable decision!!!! I do still believe that communication could be improved, and have, since posting my original review, been informed that it is typical for the attorneys to only speak to the client shortly before the hearing to ensure accuracy in representation and that no details are forgotten or missed. With receiving an explanation of this, it does make sense and I have a better understanding of why it happens this way, but I believe this should be explained more thoroughly to the client beforehand to ease any doubts or anxiety that can occur in this type of situation. It is a stressful and worrisome process to begin with and communication before, during, and after the process is very important, in my opinion. In my particular situation, my information was not properly updated the way it should have been by the case manager and this caused some miscommunication between the social security office and myself, resulting in me missing a scheduled appointment with the social security office and delaying my benefits. Based on the understanding I have now, I believe in the efforts of Michael Makris and the staff in gathering my records (because there were a LOT) and properly representing me and my health issues, but I still believe improvement could definitely be made in areas of communication between case manager and client, and effectively educating clients on the process and how things work so that they're not left in the dark wondering what's happening behind the scenes.

After being denied for disability, I decided to call Makris Law Firm to help facilitate my appeal. They were very thorough & informative about the entire process. It took less than a year from when I hired them, to receive the great news of my disability approval. I highly recommend this firm!!! Everyone was extremely helpful!

I wanted to share my experience with makris. He fought my case since 2019. Was a battle when i many times ready too give up. But he kept fighting thanks to him and his group off staff that support him. I now won my case and got justice from working for many years till unfortunately became disabled. Thanks too Makris he made it possible too get my help. Thanks to the whole crew on board.. Won my case 2021. Thank you for not giving up on my case

He helped me with my appeal and court with zero out of pocket ever. Great man. You don't have to stay on top of him. He's on it for you and will contact you when anything comes up. Appeals do take time. Mine took almost 2 years.

I consider it a HUGE PRIVILEGE to be able to review this law firm! To me they're best and what I found most impressive was their ability to relate to their clients. ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSIVE! You only need to be here and observe their relationship with them...very warm. Everyinr has something good to say about this noble lady and her very hardworking secretary.
