I live in another state, and was at a loss when a complicated family probate situation (possibly involving defamation of character) arose in Texas. I needed to find an attorney very quickly to represent me in Houston, and found Melanie through this site. I was impressed by her experience and her client reviews, and contacted her. She responded the very same day, and laid out very clearly what she thought my options were. We agreed to a one-hour consultation, and I hired her immediately after that to help me. My positive initial reaction to Melanie was strongly reinforced the longer I worked with her. I thought she would be energetic and determined, and she was. I thought she would be honest and ethical, and she was. I thought she would be a smart, strategic representative for me, and she most decidedly was. Even though I contacted her very late in the unfolding situation, she immediately grasped the critical issues at the heart of my odd, complicated case, and was able, during our first consultation, to lay out quickly what turned out to be a highly effective plan of action. In a short amount of time, she accomplished exactly what I had hoped for, and even more. I feel fortunate that I was able to work with a such a smart, efficient, and (not least of all) compassionate attorney. I felt that she was always there for me (and she was). When Attorney Bragg represented me, I was not only fearful but broken hearted because the case involved family and I knew in the end, it would divide us permanently and forever change our dynamics. I had no idea who to trust or believe. Greed, betrayal, and manipulation were rampant and I was truly devestated to see the people I love reduced to a group of vindictive strangers I was ashamed to even know. Ms. Bragg made me feel safe. She made me feel protected and made sure there were no surprises. She walked me through each step and explained what to expect so I felt not only informed but confident. The case went on for a year. I dreaded going to court because seeing my family hurt so much. But every time I went, Ms. Bragg was early so we could talk, she was kind to me, she was truthful, and she made me feel, without a doubt, that she genuinely cared and would fight hard and as long as it took to win my case. I am submitting this review November 2017. This all took place a couple of years ago. I have never forgotten Attorney Melanie Bragg and I never will. She is fair and she is a fighter. She made me understand that some people go to work simply to make a living but a precious few go to work because doing the right thing matters and they want to help make a difference for the better. She is top notch, professional, concerned, and determined. With her assistance and guidance, you can honestly breathe a sigh of relief knowing you will be represented to the fullest and always informed about proceedings, the particulars of your case, or what you can expect to happen each court date. She was appointed to be my child’s ad litem attorney. She seemed very knowledgeable about the process, answered all my questions and did what she promised to do.

My divorce was a unique situation and Melanie did and excellent job explaining the options. She walked us through the mediation in a fair and compassionate matter, especially in such a difficult situation. Overall I feel that the final agreement was fair to both parties.
