I was referred to Dickinson and Wheelock by a business associate when I began the process of setting up my business here in the Houston area. I was living overseas at the time and Jeff Wheelock was a tremendous help. Jeff Wheelock was definitely the best investment I made before starting my franchise! He breaks down every line of the FDD the franchisor sends to you before signing the final franchise agreement. He drafted up an addendum and with that I will be able to better negotiate terms! He is worth every penny! There is no substitute for a great lawyer that points you in the right direction and opens your eyes to the big picture.

I met with Jeff Wheelock about a franchise I was considering. He covered the good, bad, and ugly thoroughly. He never made me feel like he was convincing me to sign or not to sign with the franchise. He provided me with confidence that I understood the agreement and also provided suggested addendums, all for a reasonable fee. If I ever need assistance with my franchise, I look forward to working with him again.

Jeff did an amazing job of reviewing all franchise documentation at a very reasonable rate and considered the entire life cycle of the business. He provided excellent negotiating information that has the potential to save over $100K that I did not previously identify over the life of the business. Don't start a franchise without a thorough legal review of the documentation.

Jeff Wheelock's help was well worth every penny! He knows both sides of the franchise industry extremely well. If we decide to go ahead with our franchise purchase, his expertise and addendum to the contract nailed down in writing all of the areas we had been concerned with in the paperwork...on our terms. Do not buy a franchise without talking to him first--he's not going to try to talk you out of it, he'll just help you to know clearly what you're getting into, and how to get out of it if you need to in the future.
