The law firm is unprofessional and unreliable, with rude operators and a lack of communication

These scam artists have been leading my sick cancer ridden dying elder mother since 2017. She is near death its like there waiting for her to die so they can keep the money or something. The settlement was for 11 BILLION DOLLARS. After being told we would get 49000 for our settlement it was whittled down to less then 2800. Still haven't gotten it. Was told by some assistant the check would come within 14 days, suprise it hasnt come yet. Now im reading people signed for there checks in april and still havent gotten there money. My sick mother was lied to countless times about when the money was coming. All this was a scam to make the lawyers rich and screw over everyone else. If it was the lawyers mother she would of gotten the money by now for sure. It would of been better to not of been waiting for money that never comes. All I have to say is this trammell scum is lucky his office isn't near me. But he doesn't care he could care less about his clients. Here I am waiting for a check in the mail and I keep checking the mail like the checks gonna come. I feel like such an idiot and my mom is the real victim here.

My review goes along with others who had the mistake to hire this moron! What a joke! I'm still fumming over how he still gets away at being a corrupted attorney. He lied about my settlement he led me on for years only to take more money than he should have! Where is the justice in this system of bought and paid for attorney who buy your claim and dupe you for your settlement! Shame on Fletcher Trammell who did not do anything on my case, in fact you can't even find his name as your lawyer in the California courts! God is good, karma will take her place in due time, This attorney is nothing but a fraud

Same review as everyone else. Had no problem calling me numerous times, emailing me numerous times. Still nothing. Received this in February: We have been in communication with the defendants and they have let us know that we should be receiving the release of funds to our firm in waves at whichpoint we will begin the process of disbursing each client's individual settlements in payment groups. This should hopefully begin to take place within the month. The waves/payment groups have not been established yet, but as soon as your check is ready we will contact you. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you, CLIENT SERVICES Maybe a class action lawsuit needs to be filed against Trammel!!

I agree with all the negatives in previous reviews. I believe this is a scam . In the beginning (2019) Fletch Trammel or whatever his name is called me a couple times. Now that they have my personal information he hasn't found time to return my call. I've been telling his scam partners I need to talkto him before I sign anything else. They also have people with phone numbers that are not Texas numbers calling me. If anyone is thinking about hiring these clowns please read the reviews first. They are all too similar to my experience to not be true. It's totally my fault for not looking them up. Talk about red flags. While reading reviews I kept getting slapped with flag after flag. It was the United Nations of red flags. I came across 1 positive review that I believe the scammers posted it themselves. It is even possible that their website is just part of the scam. Since I make frequent trips to Houston I asked a lady with an out of state number if I could come to their office. She ( Cindy Devers ) said I can't because it's not that kind of business. Cindy also gave me a different name when I called back. Then I called the 800 number and another female told me I can make an appointment to come in. I told them I need to see Fletch and they haven't called to tell me when he'll be available. I'll end this review / complaint by saying that I wish all of you the results you want but with a different lawyer. It sure isn't going to happen with Fletch Scammer PC. One more thing.I just realized PC stands for professional conman. P.S. Why won't they let me give them a 0 ?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Houston, Texas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
