I used Shannon and had a felony. She brought me down to a misdemeanor. Denton County was not working with me and on my side. Shannon used skills to let me be a free citizen and able to vote. She does not charge a lot at all. I forgot what I had paid. It was totally worth it. She works with you and you can make payments. You can still make payments after the court case if you did not come playing. Jewish woman are the most respected. Pick Shannon. She will make your case disappear or fight to get your voice heard. It took some years, but she did it. I am forever in your debt Shannon. Nothing, but love to you. If anyone says anything bad about Shannon. You all have something against woman. Shannon stays busy and will return your calls when she finish court. Not too sure if Sandy a Edwards she still is her assistant. Sandy is very knowledgeable and delay messages. Power to women lawyers. You are doing great Sandy. Most of my court case I didn't even go. Sandy stood in for me as I moved to Georgia. Stop the negative reviews. Have some patience and shr will work with you about prices. I didn't pay her enough.

Shannon and her staff have been great at helping me with any questions or concerns I have had. They have always returned any phone calls I have had in a timely matter and put my mind to ease on several occasions. I would highly recommend her to anyone with legal issues needing a attorney.

Although they had fired her (contact AMS) I was not given another lawyer to take over my case and found a better lawyer elsewhere. They had originally failed to appear at my first court apperance and when I contacted them why, they stated it was not a free consultationand it cost 250$ first even though i went in person and paid first payment at my first consultation. Case was eventually resolved but poorly. I had to ask with another lawyer who fought for me based on poor representation. Did not come to my last court apperances. My new layer submitted a form to change lawyer on the case and she ended up leaving away with the rest of my payment anyway plus the remaining balance. I didnt mind but the remaining balance? Really? They were so hard to contact in the begining because they dont call back when they say they will. I am just in shock and upset at my experience here. That should have been a red flag when they didnt call me back the first time, and a second red flag when they were rude to me the second time about the call back when my case was urgent and i waited a week for them to call back. Then a third red flag when they failed to appear until i paid 250$ consultation fee. Lost 7,000 to her when i should have walked out losing 2300 instead. (First payment plus 250$consult)

Kimberly Harrison took my $500 research fee and she never recontacted me after. I emailed several times without an answer. Do not use this immigration law firm.

Chris Harding was the third attorney I considered for what I knew would be a very difficult and complicated divorce. The others didn’t come close, but I could tell very quickly Chris was intelligent, professional, had a great deal of expertise in family law, had integrity and was not afraid to fight for what was right. He was the right attorney for the job. Then I saw all the 5 star reviews and knew I had made the right choice. Chris was on top of every surprise, every twist and turn until a favorable outcome for me was achieved much faster than expected. The 5 star reviews are real. I found them all to be true. If you are searching for a great attorney for any aspect of Family Law, you need Chris Harding. He is dependable and communicative as well as caring and on top of his game. I highly, highly recommend him.

I cannot recommend Chris Harding highly enough for his exceptional representation in my Family Court matter. From our initial consultation, Chris demonstrated a deep understanding of family law and the unique challenges involved in cases with teenagers. He listened attentively to my concerns, provided clear and insightful advice, and was always available to answer my questions throughout the process. His professionalism and compassion made a very stressful situation much more manageable. In court, Chris was incredibly prepared and presented my case with precision and confidence. His ability to navigate the legal system, combined with his persuasive advocacy, was instrumental in achieving a positive result. My children and I are profoundly grateful for his hard work and dedication. What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Irving, Texas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
