I was on deferred adjudication probation for about a year and a half, My term was supposed to be a three year period, but thanks to Claire, I'm officially done and free to move on with my life! She has made the whole process incredibly smooth and easy to deal with. Everything worked out in a timely manner (and I didn't even have to show up in court!)

Claire was incredibly helpful during this very stressful process. She was very realistic with me from the beginning, giving me the best and worst case scenario. It was exactly what I needed to hear. She also consulted in everything I needed to do in the meantime while waiting for court, both in my professional and personal life. I honestly could not have asked for a better lawyer. I consulted a few lawyer before Claire and a few after. Some were good but others were just awful. With Claire, even during consultation, she was already taking note about me and my case. When the case took a long time to process, Claire even took time to explained why it was taking so long, even though it wasn't her fault. After my sentencing and during my probation period, she still answered any questions I may have had and I look forward to working with her again when I can this off my record. Thanks for the help Claire!

I met with a few other attorneys before meeting Claire. Within 2 minutes after meeting Claire, I was not only sold on having her represent me, I was elated that I would have someone handle my case with the utmost of knowledge, experience and compassion necessary to give me the best outcome possible. And, that is exactly what happened. Claire was very helpful in explaining the process and my options and giving me sound advice that I needed along the way. As Claire explained to me, I had a great chance of fighting my case in court, but after careful deliberation and with Claire's advice, decided to take a less risky approach. Result: Assault, NO affirmative finding of family violence, Class A misdemeanor, deferred adjudication and probation of 9 months. Claire helped with the filing of early release from probation after only 3 months, which was approved by the court. Claire will also help me in having this non-disclosed in 2 years. I highly recommend Claire! She's awesome!

I can't say enough good things about Claire. I have had to turn to her for help more times than I care to admit. However, she has helped me time and time again, without judgment and with the utmost compassion. She goes out of her way to take care of her clients and makes you feel like your issue is priority, NOT the cost and fees it takes to do it. In fact, I was even refunded half my money last time because she was able to get an extension from the judge on my last order! I cant imagine anyone better suited for a profession like this because she doesn't just do it for the money like so many others do. She truly cares about others and wants to help. When it feels like your world is spinning out of control, she'd the balance you'll need to feel grounded again.

In Summer 2017 I made a horrible mistake that led to a misdemeanor B. While I would rather not disclose what exactly I did, I can say it was my first (and only) time to be in trouble with the law. It was all in all a big mistake and Claire understood that. She helped explain to me what I needed to do and how to do it to get the best outcome. She answered all my questions about legal jargon and took me step by step through the process. She even explained to me that there were programs I could apply to that could help completely erase this from my record, if I chose to go through that. And when I did, she helped me through that too. With both of our busy schedules, Claire stayed on top of everything via email and we made sure that everything that might’ve been confusing was put in plain English. Not only that, but she even took time out of her personal time with family to answer some of my questions, which I appreciated immensely. She made this very horrible experience slightly easier and I wish there was more I could do to thank her. Absolutely I recommend her to anyone, she’s done incredible and has been a great help to me and my family.

In July 2016 I experienced heartbreak that sent me straight to the bar after work to talk it out with my friends. I made a HORRIBLE decision and decided to drive home. I'm lucky I didn't kill/hurt anyone, or even myself. But I hit a curb, got a flat a mile from home, and was pulled over and arrested right when I pulled into my apartment parking lot. Humiliated, embarrassed, ashamed and regretful, I was tossed in holding and bonded the next day. When I went to court, I had NO money. I didn't even know what the heck I was going to do and my car was considered "totaled" since it was an 07' and worth as much damage as it incurred. Which they also said they couldn't fix. So now I had no car and I still had to get to work to support myself and my daughter. I was in panic mode, I don't get in trouble. How did I get here? I was lucky enough to ask for a court-appointed attorney and be assigned to Ms. Petty. She helped me get the charge reduced and obtain the best deal, even with a mountain of evidence against me. But a few months later in April 2017, court fees, layoffs at work, financial burdens overwhelming me and the threat of losing my home...I attempted to take my own life. The state still has so many requirements, everything has a fee and I was already broke, not to mention I was humiliated and ashamed when I returned to work because everyone knew, I'd hear lots of rumors, get different looks and had to hide cuts on my wrists that were very difficult to cover. My ex was with a new woman and mother that my daughter completely enjoyed, so I figured she was better off without me and my mess of a life. What example was I? Things were worse and my probation officer wasn't making it ANY easier by any means. She wasn't sympathetic, didn't offer alternatives or inform me about the other options that I heard from other inmates after she put me in jail for 3 days because I hadn't finished my community service on time. Even though I never failed a single drug test or had any prior criminal record. So many options weren't presented to me and I was constantly told that "other people in worse situations get it done, so no excuses". No compassion. It was August and I was/am about to be evicted, unemployed and broke, nowhere to go (all my family is in CA where I'm from but my daughter is here), my car was repossessed again last week, and I only see my daughter via FaceTime once a day because of all of it. I've applied for SSDI, Welfare, unemployment, community support and more. It all takes time, strict requirements, paperwork, and classes to show progress in job seeking or money management. Yet I am still hitting roadblocks everywhere I go, getting denied help, and to be honest, I was feeling hopeless again. I can't even go home to CA to be with family and get support so I can get my life back together because I can't leave the state; and when I asked my probation officer about transferring my probation to CA, she just said no. All the research I had done and heard from others said I had other options. I reached out to Claire as a last resort, because I knew I had no money to pay her, and simply explained my situation now, and asked if she may have advice or a referral. To my complete amazement (because people like this just rarely exist anymore), she emailed me back right away and spoke to the judge about it the next day; gave me hope. We sheduled a time to meet with him in court this morning and she not only came through, she got my probation revoked, got me time served, AND was able to help me get all other legal/probationa fees I owed, waived! The judge was even kind to me, listened to me explain my story, offered me resources for help and agreed to all terms. I'm just so amazingly thankful and completely incapable of repaying Ms. Petty and the judge for their kindness. That's why I wanted to explain my hardship and mindset so you know how much it meant to me. She never charged me. But I owe her a thanks I can never repay.

We hired Claire to represent my son after making a "bad-decision. I interviewed a few attorney's and really liked her approach and her willingness to work with us based on my son's lack of any issues whatsoever and the likelihood of any charges being levied. With her help, my son received deferred prosecution probation for 6 months which is the best case scenario. My son was released in 3 months and there were no charges filed. For what it is worth, I consulted with 2 attorneys prior to hiring her. All other attorneys seemed more interested in the money I could spend, vs the best outcome for my son. She was the only one that took the time to visit with him one on one. Additionally, her work in the Collin County DA's office, prior to going into private practice, only meant to me that she was at the very least known, and respected. Turns out she is known, respected, and very well liked. Don't ever hire an attorney without doing your due diligence and do not ever think you can afford to represent yourself! Claire is a top notch person and attorney. I would definitely call her again if needed!

Claire is one of the best criminal attorneys i have worked with. She is always looking out for her clients' best interest. For example, Claire will make you work on things that will help with your case and to best represent you in order to get the best result possible. She cares about her clients and cares about getting to know them and the situation that you are in. Claire is always available, either via email or at her office to answer any questions that you may have. Her experience working at the Collin County District Attorney's office for several years helps her understand the importance of each and everyone of her client's situation. She was able to get my felony charge reduced to misdemeanor and have it sealed of my public record. Claire is someone I would contact if I found myself seeking legal representation, she cares about you, your future and most important is always there to answer your questions!

Almost 3 years ago my house caught on fire and my husband of 19 years died in that fire! His two dogs survived, 1 pregnant with her litter. we were in temporary shelter with my husbands 2 dogs, 2 weeks after his death we had his memorial service, 1 week after that, the dogs dug under the fense and got out the yard, 1 dog bit someone and both dogs were shot and killed by the police, the female dog left behind 8 two week old puppies was now bottle feeding. 1 week after this incident I was charged with 2 class c misdemeanors for the dogs getting out and fined 600$ which I paid. A few months later I finally take my daughter on a trip to clear our minds, her father had died and she was 16 in high school and this was tearing her apart. I took her to the Bahamas and she tried to have a good time. On the flight back to United States I was immediately arrested by customs and Houston pd as soon as I exited the airplane. Had no idea why and my 16 year old daughter was in total shock she's stuck at the airport 4 hours from where we live in Collin county and her mom was in jail. I was told that Collin county had s warrant for my arrest for 3rd degree felony carrying 2-10 years in prison!! Here's the charge "Dog bite with serious bodily injury". This was the first I had heard of anything other than the 600$ fine. 3,000 I paid to a bail bondsman and hired an attorney to fight for my freedom! While on bond I receive a knock at the door from a server, whose serving me a civil law suit from the lady who was bitten. They wanted everything I had.. my freedom my livelihood. I was the sole provider for my daughter, the primary medical insurance holder for 3 of my children and had been on my job for 15 years. Now I'm facing prison, loss of my job and being sued all while grieving the tragic death of my husband! I felt like Job!! Jesus this is too much! I was stuck and didn't know how to move forward the load was so heavy! Claire attended my civil mediation even though she wasn't my civil attorney she wanted to ensure that nothing was done or said that may hurt my criminal case. The civil case settled out of court and my homeowners insurance company paid the lady directly. The criminal case all the way up until the day of the trial Claire fought tooth and nail for fairness and ready to war at trial if needed. On the day of trial she negotiated along with me and the outcome I got was outstanding. No felony, a misdemeanor deferred probation with early release possibility, minimal probation requirements, she saved my job, my freedom, from prison to deferred probation meaning no conviction so I keep my job and the take care of my family!!! Claire worked hard and never gave up on the possibilities and this was a great outcome!!!

Claire was my lawyer on my case. She was very smart & professional. She was very thorough and clearly knew what she was doing. She kept me informed as to what was happening and explained everything very clearly to me, which was really nice because I didn't really understand what was going on with my case. There were a lot of filings, but she handled them all really well. She got one of my charges dismissed and got me deferred on the second. Can't say enough good things about her. Highly recommend.
