If you’re reading all the negative reviews of how this firm is filled with crooks, It’s ALL TRUE. I paid a 3k retainer only to find out the attorney I wanted to represent me would quit this firm. After I asked for a refund immediately after and about 2 weeks from paying my retainer, they only refunded me $556! If you’re looking at hiring this firm- do yourself and your family a favor and DONT DO IT! Go anywhere else, seriously. Protect your money and your family and just go somewhere else because they will do exactly what ALL these negative reviews say.. they will flat out just take your money. Disgusted with this firm. I don’t understand how they are still in business.

Shame on this Firm for taking advantage of vulnerable people in need of help!! Fyi contact a malpractice attorney that goes after crooks like these on contingency there are plenty unfortunately as this appears to be typical behavior as Texas requires attorneys to probate setting up potential clients for this unethical illegal behavior! I'm posting for my daughters and the prior clients posting their experiences regarding Carpenter Law Firm and specifically Josh Carpenter owner. Josh promised a change of council and "squaring up" of the $17k invoice total for roughly 6 weeks of nothing but double and triple billing if we would "TAKE THE REVIEW DOWN" we did last week now again no response.We were promised a highly experienced probate attorney that knew Tarrant County Probate Courts like "the back of his hand" we met with Andrew Vaughn who lied through his teeth!! We got Ty Hampton graduated 2022 billing us for training feedback advice for his learning one invoice entry states, "research rules of probate court Tarrant County" by the hour at $300 he is listed "Junior Associate" on website. ISO malpractice attorney asap! Run away don't walk.

The absolute WORST attorney/firm i have ever dealt with. The attorney was assigned to us (Ty Hampton) and was absolutely incompetent of doing any work. He has sent an invoice for 17k in ONE MONTH and there has been ZERO movement and we haven’t even had a court hearing. Our dads home is about to be foreclosed because he kept spinning us in circles! The firm itself will not even give us the time of day to meet with someone else to get answers on why our bill is so high. The invoice, we almost laughed at. Then all of the sudden Ty must of caught wind that we were disputing his charges, yet LACK of work… and he puts in a motion to withdraw with zero communication. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! My sister and i are out so much money and have gotten nothing accomplished.

Wish I could find a rating below minus 20 to give this firm. Over a year with them , no progress on my case , they switched lawyers on me 4 times , charged me for switching lawyers before I could realize this was alll a scam I was already in almost $10,000 in debt . I looked over old invoices I’ve had to pay them I realized they have been double charging me , defrauding me from the on set . When I contacted them they lowered my balance to around 7k and apologized , said it was computer error . Today I woke up to a $500 debit from one of my cards , not even sure how they got a hold of that card number cuz it wasn’t listed on any of the payment agreements I had with them. Amy said it was an error and will refund, an hour later she said management won’t approve the refund . Stay away from this scammers!! Thes guys are scammers!!!!

THEY WILL BILL YOU $450.00 FOR A PHONE CALL, YOU'LL GET AT LEAST 5 CALLS IN A WEEK BUT THEY'LL SAY YOU DIDNT ANSWER! THE LIES THEY TELL JUST TO BILL YOU THOUSANDS IS INSANE! YOU'LL GET AN UPDATED, MUCH HIGHER INVOICE, MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK. DONT WALK, RUN AWAY FROM THIS LAWFIRM, IF YOU CAN EVEN CALL IT THAT. I FELT OBLIGATED TO WARN OTHERS IN ALL CAPS. IT'S THAT BAD 👎 THEY HAD THE NERVE TO RESPOND. YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW WHICH CLIENT I WAS, HINCE THE INCOGNITO EMAIL. DUH! WHY? SO YOU CAN TRY SEND MORE BILLS ?! HAHA. TOLD THE TRUTH AND GOT UNDER YOUR SLITHERING SKIN. LIKE I SAID RUN YALL! THEY ARE A JOKE. AS YOU SEE THEY HAVE TIME TO TRY AND RESPOND TO ANOTHER HONEST REVIEW IN A NEGATIVE WAY. JUST STUPID.

If you are reading any of these reviews then know that the ones giving this law firm a 0 and telling you this place only takes your money, does not communicate, does not accomplish anything in your case, will go behind their clients back and agree to terms with other party's attorneys with out your say, blames you and does not return calls, bills you for every thing and multiple charges of same things, change of attorneys with out notice, unprofessional and if this review helps anyone make decisions I completely agree with them on their reviews. Carpenter & Associates is the reasons why family attorneys have bad names. The worst family law firm I have dealt with. I spent $30k in 10 months and went through 3 paralegals and 2 attorneys and not a single issue was taken care of but they will bill you saying they did and then withdrawal saying they couldn't get a hold of you when they have your contact, email info. Stay away from this place if you are smart.

Horrible service! Amy AND torie refuse to answer calls, they ask for more money than the initial agreement and won’t even tell you what it’s for. Run to another law firm or be prepared to get ripped off.

Carol Tharp.....never did her job.... She only wants the money....and later do nothing!. The worst experience I had trusting a Texan. Make me loose time and money!.
