I highly recommend Deron Sugg and Joanie Scott of KoonsFuller in Plano. A few years ago, I realized that my difficult marriage was at an impasse and was causing great damage to my children, so I found the courage to get a divorce and create a new life for the kids and me. After much searching of the many law firms in Dallas, two friends recommended KoonsFuller to me as the best in Dallas. I called and spoke to a paralegal who asked me a few questions and then told me about the attorneys: we set up an appointment with Deron within a few days. It was very clear during our first meeting that not only did Deron have the legal skills needed to have a successful divorce, but also he and his team cared very much for their clients. I appreciated his background in mediation and was glad that we could start the divorce process with a friendly tone, but I also knew he could be tough if needed. I also liked that KoonsFuller deals only with Family Law — it was reassuring to know that while I was totally new to the divorce process, they worked with it every day. Through a contentious year-long process of trying to negotiate with a spouse who didn't want to negotiate — and who also refused to physically separate — I never felt alone. At times, I feared for the safety of my kids and me, and they helped me legally in all ways possible while helping me to stay focused on the brighter future ahead. Our case was never a number — it was clear that Deron and Joanie were fighting for what was best for the kids and me. And, we did come to a good resolution. I also appreciated that they were able to connect me with other professionals that I needed along the way to set up an LLC, create a new will and related documents, and financial planning. Was it an investment? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes! Every day I am able to enjoy a peaceful life and provide a healthy environment for my kids. Deron and Joanie helped the kids and me tremendously.

Deron Sugg has become a proven ally to me who did a great job representing me on an extremely important family case. He is down to earth, unlike many lawyers, and has good and creative ideas. Family cases can be very uncomfortable and sometimes terrifying, and Deron and his paralegal, Joanie, really showed professionalism and understood what was at stake.
