I went through an unexpected divorce. When I tried to hire an attorney to represent me, I soon learned that my ex-husband had paid consultation fees to various, reputable attorneys in the north east Texas area which "conflicted them out" of representing me. I drove all the way to Rockwall (I live about an hour away but grew up in Rockwall) when someone recommended Kim to me. I had previously had a terrible attorney represent me during the temporary child custody hearing and had a bad experience. That guy didn't know anything about my case and essentially just showed up in court and rambled until the judge asked him to stop talking. Despite all of these circumstances, Kim was eager and willing to take me on as a client. She took the time to sit and hear me out- everything I had to say, all my concerns and all the newly formed hopes and aspirations I had for my child going forward with divorced parents. She worked around the clock, diligently and turned my case around. She is very resourceful and was able to call in child custody experts and psychologists who quickly saw through all the tactics my ex husband and his attorney were using to make me out to be an unfit mother. Things looked hopeless to me, but she continued to sort through it all and rise above the very difficult circumstances. I was amazed at how well Kim navigated the waters through what was a very, very difficult process for me. Now 3 years later, I can still call her when things come up regarding my ex husband and I co-parenting and she is quick to offer sound advice. Most impressively, she was able to turn my case around by consistently taking the high road, and doing the right thing. Every time. Despite her being met by an attorney and my ex husband who were very slick and deceitful- she represented myself and my son with class, and I think that goes a long way. It is easy in child custody cases to get caught up in lies and stories. But Kim stuck to the facts and kept us focused on what was best for my son. Which is all that REALLY matters in a child custody case. I look back on that difficult time in my life and am not sure that I could have come out as well I did with any attorney but Kim Timpa. I can't recommend her experience, expertise and professionalism enough to you if you find yourself in a difficult divorce/child-custody case needing reliable, superior representation.
