During the initial consultation things were understood and stated that this would be an “easy case” taking over from a previous attorney that got sick and couldn’t finish the case. I even paid half the retainer down when Mr. Ritchie stated “it shouldn’t be that much anyways” and he decided to start in my case with that. First red flag when I log in to zoom and he wasn’t there and my case got called. Had to ask the judge to let me find out where he was. Called the office spoke to the paralegal stating he’s logging on now things are fine I can log off. From that point on, second red flag, that’s all I do is talk to the paralegal who didn’t seem to have all the information on my case, as he wasn’t there during the initial consultation. I was told Mr. Ritchie is far to busy to take phone calls I’d have to schedule an appointment and he absolutely will NOT discuss billing. Funny as he has no problem discussing billing to take on your case from the beginning. Emails and phone calls back and forth add up rather quickly, which I do not entirely agree with, as much was done by the paralegal just to be redone after speaking with Mr. Ritchie like it’s my fault they weren’t done properly the first time with the paralegal and charging for every instance of back and forth, third red flag. I even called to check the status of the case and was told by the paralegal “there’s no status update”, despite me seeing things publicly filed via the Odyssey Portal online, then was told things were sent over and they didn’t have a chance to look at them yet about a week after the fact. If you have endless income and like to waste money go ahead and hire this firm. If not and you’re a single parent on a fixed income like myself do yourself a favor and steer clear of this firm.

Matthew Allen handled my case professionally and comported himself in the manner of a top shelf, first class criminal defense attorney. He is a straight shooter, and does not engage in high pressure tactics forcing a client into accepting a plea bargain offered by the prosecution. He is forthright and honest in his assessment of risks involved in taking a case to trial, but works with his clients to provide the service and representation they deserve. I unreservedly recommend him to anyone needing legal representation.

HIRE THE RIGHT TRIAL ATTORNEY FROM THE GET GO. Matthew Allen is an excellent Trial Attorney and I highly recommend him. After being charged with a misdemeanor I hired an Attorney acquaintance of mine to represent me. Boy what a mistake!!! After 3 1/2 years of getting nowhere I hired Matthew Allen. Not only did Mr. Allen get my case to trial his trial experience cleared me of all charges. If only I would have hired Mr. Allen from the get go. Don't make the same mistake I did. Hire the right Attorney from the get go. Hire Mr. Matthew Allen.
