Becoming somewhat skeptical of our judicial system – when I was unfortunately facing (2) felony charges that originated from false allegations – I had little trust that justice would be found. I was charged with a fabricated domestic violence charge in an obvious divorce strategy employed by my now ex-wife. While the charges were unfounded and untrue, the implications of a potential conviction would have been devastating both personally and professionally. Monica took over the case mid way through. She met with me, discussed the case and developed a plan and strategy which she flawlessly executed. She fought diligently for the truth and remained fully engaged with both me and the District Attorney’s office through the process. At trial Monica expertly handled the witnesses and exposed the lies and weakness of the case. After dealing with my public defender, and the poor response I got from him, I wanted to hire someone experienced in criminal law and had experience as a trial attorney. Those are key, when facing severely life altering charges. Monica seemed like the clear choice. When I contacted her, she was extremely responsive in her communications. She listened to me, which is something my public defender didn’t do. She had a plan from the beginning, to fight these charges every step of the way. She was kind, but also brutally honest. And on the day of the trial, the DA approached her and said she was dropping the charge, with a motion to suppress granted. That means the domestic violence charge, would be expunged from my record, like it never existed. It was amazing. She will forever be the only attorney I recommend people go to see, if they are ever faced with criminal charges. I owe her my freedom.

I had a severe violent charge against me that wasn’t appropriate for the situation. Monica exercised nothing but genuine care and diligence resulting with being able to demonstrate the full facts and background to the DA’s office. It was my choice to avoid trial and I based my decision on not truly knowing what a jury will decide given the physical size differences involved between myself and the other party. Monica negotiated a much lesser charge (Class A misdemeanor) with non-adjudication upon one year of probation. I successfully completed the terms of my probation and have renewed confidence in my life moving forward. Monica is a true professional and I wouldn’t go with anyone else.

She was assigned to me through firm she was in but I had to branch out with her because I kept getting new lawyers and it was just too much for me. She was very responsive, compassionate and really seemed to care, I have to say I am glad I followed her. Case was dismissed shortly after. I have a loved one who got into some trouble for the first time ever in their life. We initially hired the wrong attorney but this still should have never been a big deal, just a life lesson to be learned. My loved one insisted they were not guilty and from the video evidence that we saw I agreed, but our attorney at the time just kept telling us that to go to trial was going to be too expensive and too risky. Our attorney advised we were better off taking "A deal". If you've watched a few too many legal drama television shows in your life I can guarantee that you have an unrealistic expectation of what is going to transpire in a real life courtroom setting. If you happen to be unfortunate enough to need legal representation in Kendall County it's more than likely because you have been arrested & charged with a felony for an offense that is considered a misdemeanor anywhere else. Good luck with that, because I have now spent many hours observing court cases here locally and all that I see are attorneys making some kind of deal that involves long-term expensive probation and that's what happened with my loved one also. 14 months into an 18-month probation there was a misunderstanding and it doesn't matter what kind of misunderstanding you have if you find yourself in police custody you have violated your probation. Nearly two weeks went by talking to different attorneys while my loved one sat in jail without bail. I could have had 1 million in cash & it would not have gotten her out on bond. By pure accident I was looking at another member with the BCP criminal defense team and I was very impressed by what I saw. I accidentally clicked off the screen and there was Mrs. Khirallah's profile. After a few minutes of reading about Monica on the Avvo website I decided she was the one we needed on our side and sent her a message at 2:30 a.m. on a Saturday. She called me from a wedding in Dallas before noon the same day to get the details. Unbeknownst to me initially, she is a member of the BCP Criminal Defense team. Within a few short weeks a case that in no way could have ended without a minimum (And I MEAN minimum) of 2 years in a state jail ended with my loved one getting the court ordered help they really needed from the beginning and coming home with me that day from the courtroom. There could not have been any more hurdles put in Monica's way to show the judge that this person needed professional help, not 2 years in jail. The Prosecution in Kendall County only cares about a win at any cost, and if they face Monica or any of the other BCP team I don't see that win to loss record being very good in the future. Each time Monica questioned a witness she asked the outside of the box but very relevant questions proving that this was all just a series of unfortunate events, leading to a big misunderstanding needing HELP! not prison. Monica's performance under fire in the courtroom is something you have to witness for yourself and is absolutely incredible to watch. The passion of an attorney you see on TV with the professionalism and experience you need when your freedom is at stake. As long as Mrs. Khirallah is practicing law she has two very loyal clients for life.

During the most stressful time in one's life, not knowing what to do, who to talk with or who yo trust, Monica was/is a lifeline everyone in similar situations should not be without! From the initial first email asking for help, she responded on her day off and from out of town! She kept us both informed and gave her very best advise and plan! She brought with her the knowledge needed and the savvy to use it! She stood up for what she knew to be right and pushed back on those trying to cloud or cover up the facts.
