I met Mr. Hardy with little expectation that we would see any compensation or justice result from a dog bite incident. The County municipal proceeding resulted in little to no change in what is a dangerous situation in our neighborhood. He was clear and confident in expressing strategy, expectations and progress with our case! The exceptional communication made what is a long process feel seamless. The firm used every possible tactic to achieve the desired results to great success. Not only did the results of the case exceed our expectations, we sincerely felt that Mr. Hardy showed care and empathy with the situation and process. Not only did he successfully litigate a financial reward that alligned with our initial discussions, he pursued all other avenues that would help our situation through County services. Our experience with Mr. Hardy was exceptional beyond words, I couldn't recommend him more.

Chase Hardy was an excellent attorney! My case ended up having to go to trial and he handled everything so professionally and got it completely dismissed. He worked well within my schedule and always kept me informed on the next steps we were going to take. He is a great friendly lawyer that anyone would be lucky to have! Highly recommend!

Chase an an intelligent, quick-witted lawyer guided by a strong sense of ethic. He goes to great lengths to thoroughly understand and prepare for cases, offers clear and punctual communication, and strives to support his clients however possible. Chase Hardy has been an incredible help to my husband and myself as we found ourselves in an unexpected legal battle in regards to a situation dealing with guardianship of an adult with multiple special needs. We gathered an accomplished and caring team, which included attorneys, that would be at our side as we fought to keep a person with special needs in our family. This person Has lived with us, in our home, for the previous 7 years. One of the persons we have included on our team is Chase Hardy. Chase Hardy has successfully helped us to show the presiding judge in our case that my husband should remain as the guardian of the person with special needs. With Chase Hardy's help, the judge ruled that this person is to remain living in HIS home, with us. He very, very much wanted to continue living with us. Through this process, Chase was consistently accessible to discussions my husband and I needed to have with him about the legal journey we were dealing with. Chase Hardy always answered any questions that we had to ask him. Questions we asked of Chase Hardy that needed additional research, on his part, would be quickly answered and communicated back to us. Chase Hardy's answers were consistently answered in a very clear and accurate way, in layman's language, my husband and I understood clearly. Chase Hardy would always have a calming and uplifting disposition towards us, whether it was communicating through the phone, texting, emails, and especially, in person. Meeting with Chase Hardy in an office setting, in the hallway at the courthouse, or in the courtroom he always had excellent eye contact with us. This shows us that Chase Hardy listens accurately to what we are saying, is not distracted by others around us, his own technology devices or his own other thoughts. Chase Hardy is very well spoken, he doesn't say "um...ok, ok, ok...uh" while speaking, especially in the court Room, like many of us do. While I was in the courtroom, testifying from the stand, I was supported by Chase Hardy by being able to clearly and accurately hear, and understand, everything that he was directing towards me. This was advantageous, to me, because I did not have to focus any of my extra energy on being able to hear what he was asking me. I clearly and accurately heard, and understood, everything that Chase Hardy was speaking to me about while I was on the stand testifying. Because of this, I focused on answering his questions clearly and truthfully while I was testifying. When I was testifying, I never felt I was by myself on the witness stand. Through Chase Hardy's attention to stay connected to me, though his eye contact, body language, spoken word and true caring spirit, he was always at my side. I will always be forever grateful for this. This created an environment that helped me to fulfill my goal to communicate my testimony to the judge clearly and confidently, which I was able to do. Chase Hardy always knew that our number one goal, that my husband and myself had through our legal journey, was to have the judge rule my husband remain legal guardian of this wonderful person with special needs. By convincing the judge of this, this person would be able to continue living with us in HIS home, that has been his home for the past 7 years. We are deeply grateful that Chase Hardy was Instrumental in regards to my husband remaining guardian of this wonderful person with special needs. We are grateful that he will continue living in a HIS "forever home" with us. We highly recommend Chase Hardy as an attorney, and a friend, for legal needs you may have to tend to in your life. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about our experience with Chase Hardy. Thank you.

We were desperate and needed someone that would hear our small voice in a huge system. Mr. Gonzales came highly recommended. The professional staff helped us secure an appointment immediately. After our consultation, we knew this was the place for us and hired him on the spot. Mr. Gonzales is professional, personable, knowledgeable, honest, caring and helpful. He gave us his contact number and made himself available 24/7. Any time I contacted him, I always received a return call or message without delay. If he was not available for any reason, we would still receive a return call or message from attorney Christian Henricksen. These two attorneys are a true DREAM TEAM. He exceeded our expectations. He is not just an awesome attorney, he is an awesome person. If you have found yourself or a family member in need of an attorney, Mr. Gonzales comes with the highest of recommendations. Thank you for everything Mr. Gonzales.

I was referred to Mr. Joe Gonzales by a law enforcement colleague who had dealt with him several times while working cases at the DA’s office. I was given Mr. Gonzales’s cell number and calling him was the best decision I had ever made. My initial meeting and impression of Mr. Gonzales was that he was a professional and he listened attentively while I explained what had occurred that led up to my arrest and charge. He understood that I could not accept anything but a dismissal or an acquittal or I would lose my career and future goals. He advised me that he would be working with a team that included Mr. Christian Henrickson and that I would be getting two lawyers for the price of one. I struggled emotionally through a year and a half of court dates until the case went to trial. Despite all my fears, Mr. Gonzales and his team reassured me and I knew they believed in my innocence. When Mr. Gonzales goes into “trial mode” it’s amazing. His cross examinations of the prosecution’s witnesses and complainant were direct and strategically effective. The trial was very stressful for me and as we were waiting for the jury to return with their verdict after deliberation I will never forget how terrified I was and how Mr. Gonzales calmingly placed his hand on mine and smiled and said, “Do not lose your faith now.” He was confident until the very end and even when I had feared the worst he believed in my case. The jury came back very quickly with a unanimous decision and acquitted me of the charge. I will never forget what I went through to fight for the truth and I will never forget how hard Mr. Gonzales and his team fought for me. They were amazing and I felt so blessed to have them fighting in my corner. Joe, from the bottom of my heart I want thank you and will never forget what you did. I would recommend Joe Gonzales to anyone who needs a lawyer because I truly believe and know from experience that he and his team are the best lawyers a person can have. His integrity, experience, and knowledge are assets for anyone who needs a professional lawyer to fight for their case. I would highly recommend him!

I was very concerned about what attorney would represent me. I wanted and attorney that would they be fair and understanding to my case. I was driving up IH35 and saw a billboard with Joe Gonzales picture and phone number. I decided at this time I would like to schedule a meeting with him to discuss my case. My first meeting with Joe was professional and honest, he allowed me to discuss my side of the story without judgement. He listened attentively and made sure I understood the pros and cons to include the direction we should take to ensure I received deferred adjudication. Each time I was given a court date he was present and ready to go. Joe Gonzales met with the DA's office and negotiated the best deal for me. During the whole process I trusted Joe and he had my best interest at heart. Joe keeps you informed and he cares more about the client and the outcome. I appreciate all that Joe did for me and my family, he is one of the best attorney's in San Antonio. Thank you Joe for everything......your more than an attorney your a friend!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of San Antonio, Texas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
