I don't know if Miguel Ortiz still runs his own office or joined an attorney group, but if you ever encounter him please AVOID his legal services at all costs. He ignored my entire case until the day of court and asked for all of the info right before we went into the courtroom. He came off as unprepared when speaking to the judge (obviously). Outside of the courtroom he was very unprofessional, & rude. AVOID Miguel Ortiz in the San Antonio area. He does not have your best interest at heart.

Mr. Ortiz was recommended to me by a family friend. This friend said that he was the best divorce lawyer in town. I read all of these negative reviews about him, but disregarded them based on the testimony of this family friend. I cannot overstate what a huge mistake that was. Every word of these negative reviews is accurate. I felt completely alone, filling out all the divorce paperwork without any guidance from the man to whom I had paid thousands of dollars to represent me. He never notified me about anything to the point where I had to hear about court dates from the woman I was trying to divorce. He never shared with me any court filings regarding the case, even after I repeatedly asked to see them. He treated requests for clarification and assistance with nothing short of disdain. On the rare occurrence that he did take my calls to answer questions, he did so in the most condescending manner possible. He would say things like "I don't even know why you're asking me this. These things are very straightforward. You could figure it out yourself if you stopped over thinking it." and do anything to get off the phone as quickly as possible while providing as little actual legal advice as possible. I was filling out paperwork while terrified that my wife was going to take away my access to my children, and the man treated my questions like nothing more than an annoyance and an inconvenience. When I pointed out that the manner in which he was answering my questions was offending me, he blew up, yelled at me, and quit representing me on the spot. One month out from divorce proceedings he abandoned me because I dared to point out that I didn't think he was treating me professionally. After hiring him, I am unquestionably worse off than I was before. I beg you, for your own sake, do NOT hire this man.

I hired Mr. Ortiz to represent me. The bad reviews are true. The amount he charges does not compare to the work. He does not take the time to properly review your case. He does make himself available but forgets key information on the day of court or ask for information at the last minute. You end up finding about your court date the afternoon or night prior. He does not keep you up to date on the actions taken and says he tells you things when he does not. He is arrogant and rude. And don’t try to tell him he is not doing a good job because he will snap at you. Loves to mansplain. My problems are worse now then before I hired him. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Ive had a terrible experience with Mr. Ortiz for my child support case. I just had another lawyer review my child support order and she told me the language in this order is vague, and unenforceable, and basically garbage, and no wonder my ex-husband and his lawyer were willing to sign it in court. It already cost me a bloody fortune having him represent me, and this is not the first time he's made a mistake that ended up costing me more money. My case has become an absolute nightmare. Mr. Ortiz seems too busy to even care because he does have a lot of clients. You will not be a priority and if and when you do have to go back to court, you will wish you went with another attorney that properly represented you and your best interest. Im basically having to fork over more money for someone else to assist me with my case, and have wasted time and money for a service with Mr. Ortiz that was basically worthless to me and my child in the end.

I been told from another attorney that I have no rights and will get nothing if I get divorced.. I hired Mr. Ortiz and he got me everything I asked for and was always available when I call, had answers for my questions. He is very reliable and caring. I highly recommend him. Thank you Mr. Ortiz

We had the pleasure of having Miguel Oritz represent us with our child custody case. He was extremely caring, personable, knowledgeable, professional, and best of all straightforward. Through out the entire time of service, he was always responsive and made time for office appointments. One of the most valuable lessons we've learned is the need for an attorney who pays attention to details, thinks not only about the present, but the impact your current decisions will have in the future. Miguel does that! I’m not sure he sleeps much but his work ethic is on point! His team is just as supportive and responsive!

I hired Mr. Ortiz for family legal services a few months ago. From my initial consultation, all the way to the actual court trial. He was available to answer all of my questions throughout and was able to handle any concerns that I had. This attorney is straight forward with a high level of expertise and professionalism. I am very much pleased with Mr. Ortiz and his law office.

La primera cita se vendió como la persona que iba a velar por tus intereses y que para el la comunicación era muy importante, tenia que hacer cita para saber el estatus de mi caso por que por teléfono jamas respondía, le dije que no quería que me representara mas en agosto del 2016 y apenas el día de hoy marzo 1 del 2017, me llego la moción de que no me representaba mas. Definitivamente no pierdan el tiempo, su dinero y su bienestar emocional. Debi haber hecho caso a los reviews. I hired Mr. Ortiz back in September 2015 a year later a I have to fired him because was done with my case, for a year I struggle to get any communication from him or his office, the only way I could information was by stop in by his office and waited for him to see me. He took my money didn't do anything and I could never get in touch with him, half of the time he was out of the country, don't waist your time with this guy.

This attorney did for me what no other attorney could... he resolved my issues in a quickly... I previously paid another attorney $5k & she did nothing... I definitely recommend him to everyone! Thanks so much Mr. Ortiz!!!

He is a scam artist in all aspects. He sells himself as a caring honorable individual who served in the Army and is willing to help out a fellow veteran, but dont be fooled by his scam. He took my money did the bare minimum, He never informed me about anything no matter how many times I would call or show up at his office. My court date was a surprice since I had to find out from my daughter the day before. He showed up late which really was appreciated by the Judge and finally he just stood there staring blankly. The divorce decree is half hand written and is so broad there might have been no decree at all. I have lost visitation time and my relationship with my daughter thanks Mr. Ortiz.
