STAY AWAY! To call this woman an incompetent, lying, thief, would only be insulting incompetent, lying, thieves. After taking over $1,000 from my terminally ill mother, she, literally, did nothing for over a year. After 3 more months, I finally got in contact with her. She was apologetic for the delay (over a year), and told me she had been given bad advice by a court clerk, and was under the impression that the case could not proceed. I then contacted an attorney (who does not get his accept the word of court clerks over what he learned in law school) who explained to me, in simple terms, how the case could proceed. I repeated this information to Ms Branch, who told me that was correct, and that she had just learned the information. Unfortunately, after this Ms Branch’s protracted and NEEDLESS delay, my mother lost her battle with cancer. Since she had done absolutely nothing in the 1+ year, since we gave her $1,000, I went by her office to ask for the money, my mother had given her. Here is where I learned she is not just a horrible attorney, but a reprehensible human being. After telling me the money was gone (and hearing my mother died, days before my visit), she then told a pointless and hurtful lie. She looked me in the eyes and told me that my mother called her and asked her to put the case on hold. When I pressed her for details, she had none. Not only was my mother constantly stressing over not ever being able to get in touch with her “attorney”, but Ms Branch admitted to me, on the phone, that the long delay was due to bad information she received from a clerk. There was nothing I could do to get the money back, at that point, so it’s difficult to understand why she would make up something so ridiculous and vicious. I suppose it was a display of the spiteful, petty, little person she is. I would not trust this person to handle a parking ticket. Please do not trust her with something as important and complicated as family law.

I have worked with Crista Branch on several professional committees and have observed her in court. She is a skilled trial lawyer and excellent advocate. She is practical and compassionate.

Well unfortunately we will be contacting the Bar association, media and whom ever else we can. We haven't seen the attorney we paid sense we paid him long story short but I will be reaching out to some of you via fb, maybe we can come together and stop them from hurting families it's truly sad. We never ever heard from the owner until we went into the office to talk about the upcoming court date and was sent through a storm we will be good when it's over though. Anyone ever want information on anyone in that office just go to the Bexar county clerk office website and type in a name. I know the paralegal/office manager there has handled our whole case we sure haven't been helped by anyone else. This is so sad because nobody wants to go through all of this will update as we go on.

This place is unprofessional. This law firm will extort you for money. They don’t communicate with there clients at all. I had a case coming from LA, and wanting to get it Transfer to TX law, I damn near paid $5,000 dollars for no reason. Let remind y’all this was a custody case that I won in the state of Louisiana. This law firm will charge you for everything. There paralegal team sucks. The firm does things without your permission and expects for you to be ok with it. My advice to you, is not to use this Law Firm. Extortion is a crime, and this law firm should be charged. I will be contacting the bar association about this law firm. When you write a review about them, they wanna try and fix the damn problem. The problem is your whole dam staff. Good luck trying to get the rest of your money from me. The firm over charged me, and you should write it off. Save your money..... think twice. I will never refer a friend to your firm. The Branch Law Firm Sucks.

I wish I had better things to say about my experience with Crista. When my ex-husband filed for divorce in Texas, my NJ attorney recommended Crista. Although Crista is very personable, I felt like I was always chasing her down to have a conversation. Both paralegals in the office were equally as difficult to contact. The divorce has been finalized, yet I have a few open matters which I continue to attempt to resolve. I have had no success in obtaining a phone call from Crista, with my request sent three weeks ago. I felt that because of my professional background, I was left making decisions which should have been looked at more carefully by Crista. The settlement did not receive proper attention to tax implications; I ended up adversely affected by a cash settlement which my ex-husband reworded as "alimony." I believe this was wording Crista should have explained, given me the opportunity to question and potentially negotiate the amount. Crista always seemed overloaded with work, with my case receiving "bottom of the pile" attention.

I hired Crista late in my child custody case, and she has had to clean up a mess that was created by my previous attorney and myself. She has been honest about things since the beginning by telling me upfront what may or may not work. She knows how to cover all bases when things arise in order to get control of the situation and do what is best for my daughter. Crista and her paralegals are really good about returning calls, emails, and keeping me calm as things keep popping up in my case. They seem to really care about what is best for my daughter. Crista remembers every little detail about my case so I don't have to continually give her a summary of what is going on. I know I am not her only client, but she definitely makes me feel like it every time I speak with her and when we are in court. I was worried about hiring another attorney due to my lack of assistance previously, however, Crista has restored my faith in lawyers.

The Branch Law office sat on my case for months. After they lost an attorney whom was working my case, they never Notified me resulting in my case sitting for months with no action. All while still bing charged for every call and email asking about my case. Please don’t use this firm they care about dragging out cases for the money. Very unorganized an unprofessional. Crista Branch never gave me the professional Courtesy to notify me that her law firm lost a lawyer working on my case!!! Stated it’s not her fault that she lost an attorney but last time I checked the name on the building is Branch whom should have taking responsibility!!! I will say that things started to get on the right path when Justin started working my case, but by then I had already filed a complaint. Go see Jon Distrud he cares for his clients and will do the work that you need when you need!

Still getting a $700 bill after I paid $2500 for representation. A few phone calls and a couple emails is apparently what all that money gets you with this firm. They did not draw up any legal documents that were used in my case. In fact, they withdrew from my counsel a week before my court hearing. By far the worst experience I have ever had legally. And I’ve had some pretty bad ones. But this one takes the cake..

Crista Marichalar handled my case for me which involved settling my late father’s estate in the interest of my mother who was his beneficiary. His Will was unfortunately, not written by Mrs . Marichalar. When she and her staff attempted to get the Will probated , the judge found a descrepancy in signatures of one of the witnesses and because of that , the judge delayed the probate. This caused me undue inconvenience in trying to settle my dad’s Estate on behalf of my mom since I was the Executrix of my dad’s estate. Now Ms.Maricharlar had to locate that witness who at the time of the writing of the Will , was working for another law firm. Now , the witness was no longer working for the previous law firm and could not be found. This required much time and dedication on behalf of Ms Marichalar and her staff to try to track down this person , which after much effort , was found. However , after locating the witness , she was not readily agreeing to appearing in court and testifying before the judge , that indeed both signatures were hers evident in the Will and the error was hers. As stated, this turn of events required much time and energy and dedication of service to client for this situation to be resolved in my favor, but with Ms Marichalar’s tenacity and determination to serve her client in a most professional manner , the situation was resolved with the Will probated and my mom’s legal interests were protected and my execution of the responsibilities laid before me could continue. I could never repay my attorney for the service , dedication , determination and professionalism she demonstrated in helping me in a time of grief and despair. Ms. Marichalar would not give up until she saw the situation resolved as only it should be. I feel it important to state as well, Ms. Marichalar was readily available when needed and returned calls when necessary in a timely manner without attaching an additional charge to her services. This does suggest that she is compassionate and a dedicated professional as well as an Attorney worthy of recognition not only by her clients but her peers as well.

I have known Crista since college. She was focused and devoted to studying law and becoming a moral and legal expert. She has handled my divorce with great decorum, and made a difficult time much easier for me. Since then she also has handled my grandparents estate which was much more complicated than expected, and drawn up family wills anticipating any scenarios that could create complications. She is personable, empathetic with her clients, but has no hesitation with being aggressive when necessary to get the appropriate rights for her clients. She is absolutely a wonderful attorney and ally.

I have consulted with Ms. Branch for many years on a number of different legal matters. She is highly competent, thorough and attentive to clients' needs. She and her staff always responds to my communications. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.
