I have dealt with quite a few lawyers over the years in regards to my ex and our custody agreement but this is the first and only review I have ever left for any of them. Matthew Hill and the Eggleston law firm represented me in a very emotional, highly contentious, and unique child custody battle that ended after a jury trial in September. I am absolutely certain that if I had not had Matthew on my team with his extensive legal expertise, his ability to think quickly and react appropriately, and his unrelenting spirit in fighting for me - the results would not have been nearly as favorable. Matthew is a straight shooter, and a compassionate and extremely smart guy. He always had a back-up plan and he was 10 steps ahead of everyone else. During the trial I had the pleasure of getting to know and receiving counsel from his partners, Brian Eggleston and Janice Eggleston, as well and can’t say enough about how the entire team at their firm supported me and my family throughout the two week trial. Janice is kind, quick-witted and incredibly smart. Brian has a way of putting his clients at ease in impossible situations and is guaranteed to make you laugh. Tina is such a wonderful paralegal, she was always on point and held my hand through the worst parts of the trial while Matthew took on the fight. Mr. Hill exceeded all expectations throughout my divorce process, ultimately helping me settle with my wife in mediation. I recently retained Matthew J. Hill and the wonderful folks that work with him to help me address a very difficult and hostile post-divorce property division and enforcement case that was filed against me. I can’t commend them enough for the extraordinary efforts and insights navigating my situation, and the professionalism and attention that they gave to me and my case. The process was very difficult and complex. During the entire period that we were dealing with this Matthew was in constant contact with me, I never felt abandoned or out of the loop, they communicated with me and stayed on top of things perfectly. I’m not new to divorce, custody, property settlements, or similar family law matters unfortunately. I have had some great attorneys along the path and unfortunately some really incompetent ones; Matthew rates right there at the top. He was efficient so that my legal fees didn’t run up and cost me more than necessary to successfully resolve my case. Matthew always gave me the sense that he knew exactly what he was doing, and that if, God forbid, we were to end up in trial, there was no doubt in my mind that we would have won our case in court. Fortunately for me we were able to resolve the dispute and arrive at an amenable resolution without going to trial. That is not an easy outcome to obtain against the odds that I was facing. Thank you Matthew, and thanks to your excellent staff for all their long hours and support as well. Long hours including weekends and evenings when necessary; hard to find an attorney that will go to those lengths these days. A few years after my divorce, troubling legal issues erupted regarding child support and the Office of the Attorney General (Texas). I came to Matthew Hill for help. He stood by me, and guided me through the ridiculously complex process. We settled all the issues quickly and fairly and my orders are now clear and concise. Now I can sleep night. I have worked with other attorneys but I have to say, no one I have worked with thus far has the experience, compassion, knowledge, and work ethic to get to a positive outcome like Matthew J. Hill. When speaking to Matt in the initial conversation, he seemed very enthusiastic about a quick outcome. Most of the time he does not have a paralegal working for him, so he is charging you a full rate; for sending you a 2 word email, or short fax. Every Deadline we had set was missed, Every other email was him explaining he was sorry. His family has more illness and emergencies then I have ever seen. Lesson learned, go with people with more support, larger practice, who can litigate and get things expedited quickly. He is a nice enough guy, but execution is no this strong point. Seems to be more focused on billing and collections then client satisfaction. A year after we ended the case early, due to in my mind misrepresenting of time to trial, not listening to me the client, and a million emergencies. He agreed to help drop the case, and not charge any more money and we go our separate ways. I still get a monthly letter asking to pay some balance, that was not to exist. Again, he represents himself as an attorney who covers everything from Criminal to Real Estate.. But rest assured when you are trying to push your case to completion; expect him always to: Delay; Have some huge case going on; or have some sort of emergency that keeps him from dead lines he sets.. This was a lesson learned on my side, and should have asked to speak to references and I judged his character wrong.

Mr. Hill was excellent and responded in a quick and efficient manner. This was an emergency case and he was more than willing to assist with everything that was needed. Mr. Hill is highly qualified and extremely professionally in his demeanor. I highly recommend him to anyone who is seeking a professional and qualified attorney.
