I would like to recognize the outstanding contributions made by Carly Maderer and Gigit Tyler. They, out of the kindness of their hearts, volunteered their professional expertise last fall in a series of webinars regarding special needs trusts and the pursuit of government benefits. Thanks to the wisdom of the forum leaders in setting up these webinars and the information provided, that I wasn’t actively pursuing, I was able to setup a special needs trust for my son and he was recently awarded government benefits. This was my second time applying for disability. I had setup an account online and received notice that I was approved. However, three months later I was denied. I was hurt, angry, worried, and confused. The paperwork is gruesome. I was actually going to give up. I had thought about an attorney before but just didn't follow through.
