Ms. Donnica Blackful was referred to me by one of her clients. I am delighted I hired her. She represented me very well in court regarding child support and fought for the best interest of my child. She is very knowledgeable about the law and the court system. She thinks fast on her feet. I appreciate her compassion, especially since the child support case was complex and emotionally draining. Ms. Blackful was extremely tenacious through obstacle after obstacle during my case. Then, the pandemic and the shutting down of courts due to Covid 19, didn’t make things any easier. However, in the end, she got me what I was asking for. The right to see my only daughter on a regular basis without continual harassment from the other party and the ability to bypass the lackadaisical attitude of law enforcement to enforce what were my current court orders prior to hiring her. She doesn’t put up with nonsense from unwilling coparent parties or their attorneys. She is an extremely hard worker for her clients and I would definitely recommend her to my friends or anyone who has a difficult domestic or custody situation where you know you have rights that are currently being violated as far as your child(ren) by the other parent and/or step parent. She knows the laws in Texas and tells it how it is, even if it’s not always what you want to hear. She’s a straight shooter. And I respect that about her. Ultimately, I would work with her again.

Going through an uncontested divorce is a complete nightmare when you have absolutely no clue about the law. With COVID restrictions and lack of REAL helpful resources (despite what texaslawhelp tells you), I was going through several hoops just to understand what I needed to do next to complete the process by myself. After 2 dismissed court hearings, I was in tears and ready to give up. I was referred to Ms. Blackful by a friend who suggested I give her a call because she is fast with response and results and also affordable. Not only was she was quick to assist but she understood the situation right away without me having to go into much detail. She helped me with my divorce and was a complete blessing! With a divorce comes lots of emotions and uncertainty, but Donnica made the process easy and worry free. She was very professional, patient, and answered all of my questions. Very Traumatic experience for me with the whole court situation, but Ms Blackful was always 100% honest and upfront with me. Just got custody of my Daughter on Feburary 10, 2020 thanks to Ms. Attorney Marie. Feburary the 10th was one of the most happiest day of my life. My ex husband who I had been separated from for eight years divorced me on Feburary 15th, 2018 and also got custody of our daughter. My daughter had been living with me the whole 8 years while we were separated. During the time we were separated I barely got any type of financial help for our daughter from him . The most I proably got in 8 years was proably $1500 dollars. So basically he got my daughter cause I did not show up in court. I never got a letter telling me a specific date to show up in court. We used Donnica for my husbands custody case in order for him to see his daughter. Donnica took time specifically for us to see her after hours and always made sure to answer or return our phone calls, even in the evening or the weekends. She took time and showed true care for us and what we were going through. Donnica was also up front and not afraid to be confrontational with the opposing counsel. She kept my husband calm and she made sure to always explain what was happening and would not give up till we were satisfied.
